I have the seat for two years now. No wife drama as it can be stored away in seconds with the wheel and pedals still attached to it. Good as well if space is essential (living in a small studio). For those calling it an expenssive garden chair. It's super strong. Flex is minimum and an added bonus to the way the frame is built is that being a bit flexible, it picks up from the wheel base all the vibrations and sends them through your body which proves beneficial for imersion. I tottaly recomend it.

Pack racing is key for longevity in racing games. The first gird, touring cars was one of the best for pack racing. GT5, only on High speed ring, was up there. Oval on iRacing, awesome pack racing.

You should get a much more stable wheel if you move bolts, shown at 1:22 in vid, to hold plate out more so when you put force on wheel it doesn't act as lever on its tube mount as much.

Great review, pleasant and on point. Regarding the pedals strap, you mention it was not included but seems like there is one in the shot where you store it in the closet. Did you have to add a separate one ? I'm guessing without the strap the pedals will fall off when folding ? Ordered one yesterday, waiting for delivery. Already have wheel stand pro but find that it is a bit of a nuisance to set up and add a chair, so end up using it very seldom.

Challenge is great for what it is - a foldable sim rig and I really love it. The only complaint I have after using it for a while is that it could offer a little bit more room for legs - but this of course depends on your height, your position behind the wheel and thus it's quite subjective.

Okay, I'm 15 and around 5'9 so I think it will suit me pretty well, I like playing F1 games and I feel like the evolution is a little bit to upright for that, so that's why I think the Challenge might me a bit better for me because you can loose the straps so you're more in like an F1 position ;) or do you think the Evolution is still better?

I considered this option, but the chair is £180 / €220 after Amazon fees. I found an equally good option. Get an Ikea poang chair €75 and a wheel stand pro V2 deluxe €125. Looks way better and is equally as good.

Will the poang chair and the wheel stand fit under a bed or in the closet? ;) Playseat challenge resembles an actual race car seat and it feels a little snug, just like it's supposed to. It's foldable and fits in a closet and when it's out - it looks like it means business. I don't think you can tell the same thing about the poang chair. I used to have a wheel stand and the experience was less immersive.

I think one of the reasons is that there's no reasonable alternative - this is so much better than a wheelstand and not cumbersome like a regular bucket seat sim rig.

Yeah, it does get warm, especially on a hot day, but not enough to start sweating... but I don't play longer than 2 hrs.

I think that this model is targeting casual gamers, who don't mind that there's no place to latch the shifter. You could always try and DIY a mount.

The company claims that the Playseat Challenge is compatible with all Thrustmaster steering wheels, but I cannot confirm that since the TX is all I have ;)

Yes, but the T150 does not have holes in the bottom for a hard fix. The clamp doesn't match the plate provided for wheel a 100% , you got about 2 cm surplus, but it works just fine. Wheel doesn't move at all.

There are idd easy and cheap DIY fixes. Get 2 round clampy things like they use to install piping. Put it on the frame and screw a metal L shape on it. You can clamp your shifter to that. I've also seen people use the things they put on motorcycle handlebars to put their rearview mirrors on. That around the frame. Again take a predrilled metal L shape on it and you're good to go.

Yeah, this thing seems to have blown up in the US this holiday season. Almost no one has it in stock, and those who do are charging $350 for it!! I was able to get it through Playseatstore.com in the Netherlands for $250.

I have no idea, you will need to check with the manufacturer. My guess is that the base will work, but you might have to get a bit creative with the gearbox.

That's a good question - I myself don't use either (at least for the time being) but I do think it would be possible to retrofit an assembly that's meant to be used for a different chair model.
