I don’t shave my head and I’ve got a massive bald spot in the back and the classic thin front. I’ve learned to own it. It’s liberating when you can reach the point of “I don’t care, behold!!! For I will not hide from your gaze.” If people snicker behind my back then f them. I look like those guys from the 80s and I walk tall. I’ll probably go mustache too and embrace it all. It’s a great exercise in self acceptance.

The console slip is really the software slip. The loss of sales due to the price hike of games to $70 is immense and it's led to terrible software attachment numbers.

After playing Zero Dawn and God of War on PC I desperately wanted to play Forbidden West and Ragnarok. I waited 2 years and finally bought a PS5 to finally enjoy them. Good for me, I have some disposable income. But I know dozens of people who just won't be able to play those games because the initial hurdle is to steep. Now Forbidden West will be released on PC but many of the people initially interested in the game might have moved on. Releasing the Games on Day 1 on PC will lose them a few Console Sales but will net them possibly millions of sold games. I'm happy that Sony finally came to terms with reality. Also: shave your head, sport it for a few days and see how it feels. You can always wear your hat if your uncomfortable :)

Sony’s leaving money on the table; lots of it. The entire goal of selling a console is to make $ on the software. So, ultimately, console sells figures are meaningless to the bottom line. Sony IPs will do great on Steam which will help studios make more/better games!

Some of this is a truth that multiplat games can sell more. But at the same time it is about pricing. At a time when everything is going up, MS and Sony went more expensive on consoles and games. PS2 sold 100mil plus cause of the price as well as the good games. These consoles were going for 700-1000 when supply was low and games went up ten bucks. You didnt see Nintendo sales decline much,

In general i think the console generation is coming to an end. Sure company will make console but i believe PC will be the best investment as company are going to probably switch software and services especially for Sony since their title come to steam you have a better chance getting PS titles on sale vs on the PS store. PC you will always have something new to play and have faster updates on titles.

This is the third consecutive generation where "The console generation" is coming to an end. Analyst said the 7th console gen will be a total of 150 million combined consoles. We got 270+million Analyst said the Wii will be the last console to sell 100 million units, and that Gen 8 will be for sure be the last..here we are.

It's not that consoles are dying (they aren't) but they have stagnated. The total units sold between all the platforms isn't seeing any real growth compared to the massive mobile market and much larger than console but smaller than mobile PC market. So no, consoles are not dying, they have stunted growth for these companies hence the interest more in PC launches. Except Nintendo, they are always that one odd man out.

@TheGamerGuy1981 No, there is no "except nintendo" if you are talking about console sales stagnation. Everything you just said applies to nintendo. The difference here is that nintendo makes cheaper hardware and cheaper software to produce, resulting in an above average profit margin for electronics and very large profit margin for software. The ps4 posted record profits for Sony Group 3 times actually over the ps2 despite ps2 having 40+ million more console sales.( 2017,2018,2020). Not saying there is no issue a soft cap on hardware may produce but the slimmer profit comes from the cost to produce the game, and now an unprecedented turn of events, cost of console parts for current gen has stayed the same price to produce since 2020 severely injuring profit margins. The main issue at hand isn't the soft cap of console hardware. It's the ever slimming profit margin on hardware and software. That's where you can insert "except nintendo"

I and other PC gamers have been arguing for this since before "Gaming PC's" existed. We're now multiple generations deep into consoles basically being mid-tier gaming PC's anyway. Exclusivity sucks for non-fanboys who just want to play good games on their platform of choice.

Since covid there really hasnr been any good games besides ff16 which was alright and same with REvillage especially on consoles. Being bought out buy bot buyers and reselling for double the price. No wonder they took a hit

I don't think sony fans care as much as xbox fans do about the whole going to pc thing. But I'm just one gamer and I'm all over the place, I just want good games all over
