Very good information! Last year I got so sick of the issues with my GoPro's (Too many issues to even list...) So, I was torn between switching to DJI action 4 or buying the Insta 360. I went with the action 4, I am not disappointed at all when comparing to any of my GoPro's, BUT with that said after a few days of using it I realized it doesn't really do much for me except for it simply works when u need it to. So, I think the insta 360 is next on my list!!! To be honest the lens's sticking out and possibly getting damaged was what turned me away from it, so I'm glad you mentioned the x4 having replaceable lenses!!! Thanks!!!

Can you connect an external battery for longer continuous filming?

I haven't tried, but you are supposed to be able to do that. I'll see if I can try it out this weekend to confirm. because my back camera on the kayak would need to run that way.

@@AaronHuntFishing I recently bought the DJI Action 4 because it supposedly doesn’t overheat when filming all day. It gets real hot out here in NC and that’s a real issue with my GoPros.

@@RamonOutdoors definitely way better then GoPros but yes it will overheat, it also recovers quickly though. I run 2 of them on my Outdoor Channel

This is likely the very best tutorial or thought stimulating 360 KZbin presentations I've seen to date. And you talk about Tube Buddy, something I've never heard of but consider worthy of further investigation. The problem is that I file videos and tutorials by subject for future reference and reinforcement. Chances are excellent I'll never see this video again, especially when I remember something you said and want to refer back for a refresher. Perhaps if I Email it back to myself with a different subject line? Tube Buddy didn't help much this time.

Maybe a used Insta360 X2 or a standard GoPro. there aren;t many alternatives to a true 360 action cam.

I'd say this is a better investment that a drone. I was toying with the idea of a drone but I think I would get way more use out of this

I SHOULD use my drone more, but this has so many ways to improve your footage and is easier to use.

Can you get some sort of side door that exposes the USB C port on the 360? I have that on my GoPro and I run a cable to a power bank that I put in a zipper in my backpack.

It's easy enough to just run it with the door removed int hat case. maybe a cage would allow me to secure the microphone though - if it doesn't get in the stitch lines.

I think you can use the DJI mic 2 with bluetooth so you don't need to use the mic adapter.

I purchase the X3 2 mo before the new x4. I didn’t do enough research cause I had no idea the x4 was coming out. I love the x3 and it’s going to be my primary camera.
