I used to be happy. Surgeons took away my life. I am alive, but I do not live. I try to move past this, but I am in constant pain. Every second of the day I try to find a way out, but so far the pain has me in it's grip 24/7. Peace to all.

This talk is such a simple yet profound lesson. Rare to hear from such an enlightened soul in this day and age. The existential philosophy, the importance of the here and now, the "is-ness", being a human "being" not a human doing! Peace through mindfulness. Easy to relate to his kind explanations. Rev.Teacher, The discourse regarding the entanglement of the future, present and past life is truly a blessing for me. The all important doctrine of the BUDDHISM is to keep away from the negative KARMA is totally relies on the present and thus, show us the future...I believe this absolute faith. May all beings have the loving kindness and compassion in abundance throughout their life times.

You might like to handle your body, your breath, your mind in such a way that you can restore freedom because one in-breath made mindfully can pull you out from the prison of the past and the future... We should keep our mind in the present moment. The present moment is changing so fast that a casual observer does not seem to notice its existence at all. Our mind goes through a series of events like a roll of pictures passing through a projector. Some of these pictures are coming from our past experiences and others are our ideas of things that we plan to do in the future. As the mind can never be focused without a mental object, we give our mind an object that is readily available every present moment, i.e. our breath.
@jbek63

That is a beautiful way to explain how to learn to stay in the present moment as our minds rush off to worry about events that never happen , we spend so much mental energy theorising about the future and regretting the past the present barely gets a look in , as with all things good , practice makes perfect and the joy of meditation is the practice ,

Often when we are annoyed by something, we like to believe that it must objectively be annoying and wish for it to stop. It is easy to point outwards, but you will never fix the conflict until you point within and admit that annoyance and negativity is generated within you and projected outwards onto those objects. It is intuitive that nothing in reality is objectively annoying or anything beyond what it is without our thoughts, humans just think it is objective if enough of us agree on a matter.
