I liked the explanation you gave for using the filter before the VFD. I also usually by a power on switch for main power that contains a filter also. I enjoy the short videos taking your time to show all the wiring involved and explaining the things you are doing.

I thank you for teaching, do not forget to install (EMI filter 5a) to avoid damaging the controller an engineer told me it is important to emi filter for all computers emi filter 20A - VFD perfect the food source drivers and motor must also have the emi filter 10A It is very important for longer life because I tried all components function test without emi filter was gone mad thank you very much for teaching me Connection cables Excellent you're very kind

+Yordi HDEZ Your welcome, The tri power power supply has a built in EMI filter adding a additional filter cant hurt. The stepper drivers and motor power are DC the AC to DC rectifier should resolve the EMI however cant hurt there as well. Be Safe, Sam

Thanks for breaking this down into several videos. Trying to take everything in at once can get overwhelming really quick.

+Jody Olivent Thank You, That's the kinda feedback I need, I thought I would rather have a lot of short video's rather than a few long ones this way hopefully its not confusing and you can skip the sections you do need or doesn't pertain to your build. Be Safe, Sam

looking great!!! very professional looking control cabinet! for reference, the have 90deg terminal connectors for those hard to fit spaces for those going forward, I found it makes life a little simpler but I agree a soldered connection is better then spade terminals that tend to loosen up with repeated installation and we removals..

+christopher polanski I haven't ever had a EMI filter go bad but then again you never know. That the thing about doing something the first time hard to plan for everything. but it should be fine. be Safe, Sam

Stan Z was wiring something through a 3 pole contactor and only needed 2 poles, but wired one circuit through the unused contact to avoid possible uneven wear. I don't know if it's worth doing for a device which I expect will live a pretty easy life though.
@CNC4XR79 жыл бұрын
Yeah the contactor. Is pretty heavy for what were using it for. And yes I will only need one pole for now. Unlike a contactor used to start a motor. There really won't be much wear since the start and stop is controlled with vfd internally.

Just curious, why wouldn’t you use a circuit breaker in the enclosure instead of the fuse type? If it blows the fuse you have to replace it. A breaker trips and you can reset it! ???
@CNC4XR75 жыл бұрын
Fuses tend to be quicker and better for this purpose.

Why do you need a relay for the transformer and the 5-12-24V power supply? Tried to find an answer online couldn’t find. Thanks in advance.
@CNC4XR76 жыл бұрын
there is a Holding circuit that will keep the relay energized and the VFD contactor energized until a etop is pushed. this is for safety of course to remove all power in the event of a EStop

I want to use stepper motor drivers powered by 110V AC They are Leadshine HB1108S (they directly accept 110V as input voltage) From what I understand, I have the feeling I should put an EMI filter just before each of the 4 drivers I have. Would you confirm that?

+ERGOtek Mechanics Limited Good Question! The Number your referring to on the Contactor is the coil voltage I'm using is a 120V ac coil www.ebay.com/itm/181661739194?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

If I was wiring the enclosure, I would have to add another relay to activate the fire extinguisher.
@CNC4XR76 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you would be fine Besides you would not know how to hook it up! LOL

The top/bottom panels will have earth studs, you need to wire these directly to the side earth stud, not via the earth block. The fans need dust filters. The diagram doesn't show where the mains filter is connected.
@CNC4XR77 жыл бұрын
No studs on the panel just on the Back plate, Fans blow out and there is a filtered Intake. No Main power line filter just a filter before the VFD.
@____________________________.x7 жыл бұрын
No studs? Wow that's strange, it might just be a UK thing though? Ah sorry, I mistook which fan I was looking at. Actually I realised later that you've updated the drawings with where the VFD filter was wired.
