The best English pub jukebox song while playing pool and a pint 🤟
@nathanpenn36683 жыл бұрын
When this came out originally it was on the pub jukebox at least twice a night while I was playing pool. In fact this is the song which I most associate with playing pool in a pub, which I've been doing for 35 years. However I haven't heard it in a pub for a long time so the imprint on my mind is very very strong. So your theory is, in my case certainly, correct!

I love the album version of this song, with the ridiculously-long guitar doodling at the end... true, it might've been completely self-indulgent, but there's a beautiful nod to both "Love Spreads" and "Voodoo Chile" in there somewhere that just drifts out of the bluesy jumble, and it's a joy to hear! Also, you can almost hear the rest of the band shaking their heads as they just give up and head off for a tea-break at the end, and John just keeps on jamming away on his own... lol

Love is the Law. All Squire's Art is timeless. His soul is ancient and wise. His collage painting is a greater joy to him than the tapestry he weaves effortlessly with all his guitars. Saw these underwater creatures twice, once in Misseraboro and once in the Mayfair in Newcastle. At the Mayfair, I watched John from above, mesmerised for the whole gig by his effortless talent. Honestly, seriously, what an amazing band...and that guitar sound! What can I say? John Squire is absolutely incredible! Why is it that bands like Seahorses come and go? The Stone Roses, just two albums. Seahorses, excellent, excellent, excellent! Reform! Although, that said, the link-up with Liam Gallagher, another great, can only be welcomed...and a number one album. Brilliant! I'd love to learn more about John Squire, an interesting man if ever there was one, living the life and playing the most amazing guitar. How, I wonder, does somebody become THAT good at guitar playing. It's inspiring. I've always yearned to buy and learn how to play bass, but Squire's guitar playing has made me think differently. If I could get anywhere close to that sound I'd be forever a happy man. Great song, Love is Blind and so is the rest. I might rebuy vinyl, get myself a turntable and float off into space.

Ant and Dec's Skating on Ballroom with some Strictly Jungle stuff thrown in. If that don't do it, voyeurism of Emmerdale Farm, Easte Enders and Coronation Street - live to argue,gives the viewers a sense of superiority, keep the masses off thinking about what the Man's really up to. Even now - Ponse Andrew thrown to the sharks to hide another agenda - watch my right hand everyone...

Only found this recently when I borrowed a mates car . Fantastic . His taste in music is a lot better than his taste in motors .

+1972Douglas yeah the verses have that kinda mystical Roses vibe.

+1972Douglas How True u are. They didn't receive the attention deserved them because the STONE ROSES overshadowed them. If Squire wasn't in band they might have been bigger it was as if ROSES fans resented them.

+1972Douglas I dont know, I cant imagine Ian Brown singing this, bit too soft.

yeah, this could be a great Stone Roses song

This doesn't really need a reply...but Squire is...The Seahorses. If you have "do it yourself"...EVERY track is ALL GUITAR riffs/crescendos extraordinaire...this video cuts the EPIC guitar solo that is the essence of "Love Is The Law". The "Blinded By The Sun" video cuts the intro-guitar solo that is a John Squire hallmark...ie. The Stone Roses-"Love Spreads". This band is ALL about John Squire writing songs to show off his guitar PROWESS...he is one of the BEST.

I still have all of their CD singles, and their album, of course. You don't hear much about them now, but at least someone is posting their videos. Quite simply, this was some of the best British rock of the 1990s........the outro of Happiness Is Egg-Shaped says it all!

Lyrics We lived in a dogfish, egg case You could barely call it home Sorry, little lot no roof on top But the fish left us alone "Try a little more" said the girl next door It's time to roam Mad Lizzy Crumbs, blind cobblers thumbs Were a sight to behold She was a rum old slapper and we always Tried to get her pants off when she phoned Left her cap by the sink, it's not what you think Oh, take me home Now we know where we're going, baby We can lay back and enjoy the ride Take in the sights and drown in our senses Love is the law so take me deep inside Strap on Sally chased us down the alley We feared for our behinds Oasis was a shop with shoes so hot They were sure to blow your mind Running so fast, I can taste the past Oh, take me home Now we know where we're going, baby We can lay back and enjoy the ride Take in the sights and drown in our senses Love is the law so take me deep inside These waters run deep, it's clear, my little one Blue, velvet, star sky, not a sound The light in your eyes, the smile on your ruby lips Tells me my lost soul is found Now we know where we're going, baby We can lay back and enjoy the ride Take in the sights and drown in our senses Love is the law so take me deep inside
