Good work Gaz! Initially I had no interest in these little doodads but watching you go to town with them has made me interested in the possibilities. Thanks!

Really grimy sound, reminds me a bit of my MFB Nanozwerg. In other words: Friggin' awesome. Damn you, Gaz, now I want the sub too, and I wouldn't be too surprised if you would manage to water my mouth for the PO-16 as well. To those who call it a toy: Yeah, it is, so what, it's not that toys would be a bad thing. I bet the PO-14 can sound amazing in the right hands.

Maybe "Key OOOO" should be "Chain" as it looks like it might be a picture of a chain.

These PO's do look fun to play with for a while, and to jump start some track idea's, but i wonder if you coudn't find a better VST for the same price that does a heck of a lot more... But these still look kinda interesting :)
@KamilKisiel10 жыл бұрын
Probably. But can you carry the VST in your pocket and come up with patterns on the bus? That's the attractive thing about these devices.
@Garnomala10 жыл бұрын
Sure on my laptop haha :) Yea but I wouldn't wanna be doing that anyway, the roads here in Belgium are so awful you can't even press the buttons with all the wobbling of the bus. But I get Your point yes, the portability is a plus.

AJ Gapsquez And while "key-chain" would even be clever, from the Teenage Engineering manual for this model "add play styles while playing, hold keyoo and press any key 1-16 to punch in playstyles, such as chords, arpeggios and transpositions." Crazy!

I love weird musical gadgets like this, it adds something really interesting into a setup. I'm definitely calling mine a key Yooo button, it's an awesome name for a regular old button. Gaz needs to claim the rights to "key Yooo"

personally i've an analog 4, a tempest, an akai 950 and a Korg LP10. sometimes i like to buy "toys" like the poket operators or a mini kaossilator.. i think is a nice way to learn something more, even better in this case, just 69€.. i bought the entire serie. I can always use it to teach something to children. play is the better mode to learn to play. =)

What do the little icons near the number keys represent?
@markharman989610 жыл бұрын
For example, like the octopus near the 12 key.
@RottenMechGaming10 жыл бұрын
Mark Harman They are a little symbol to represent either the effect or the instrument. I do find them handy as something visual to represent a sound or effect I have used associated with the icon.

Wonderful work, as always. Love Sonic Talk and all the folks involved. Hilarious, though, that Gaz keeps pronouncing Key and that button's differently colored chain icon (all the buttons have a differently colored icon) as a single word. Tell you what, Gaz: I'll call it comedy genius instead of a brain fart. :p

@budgetnudist11789 жыл бұрын
James Porch You can sync them.
@Tourasaur9 жыл бұрын
+James Porch Probably, but it's only £49, it syncs to a click track, so syncs fine to volcas, laptops, other Pocket Operators, phones etc. As for black keys, I just don't play any sonatas on it.
@PorchBass9 жыл бұрын
mike payne you are right, I bought the po12 drums which sync great with the korg volcas also. It sounds great. I still want black keys so won't get the sub, but must applaud teenage engineering for their brio, price and sound. I can see the fx workaround would work fine for black keys now having played with the unit
@HazeAnderson7 жыл бұрын
Speak for yourself. Those things sold like hotcakes. Creative limitations. Do you want 1 and 1/3 of an octave chromatically, or two octaves tied to a scale that can still have chromatic applied to it? I'll take the later. You can go back to hating. xD

@tatsuhirosato86469 жыл бұрын
All of them combined in a machine like a volca with midi and under $200. Do that and you'll get my money. As of this, it seems like a ripoff. I feel like this should be like a $20 toy. I'd buy this at walmart for my kid at $20.
@pprophet8 жыл бұрын
I feel like 60 dollars is pretty reasonable for what these machines do offer, with all the sound design, programming and engineering that mush have went into making this
@DMC-mp9sx8 жыл бұрын
Sato Tetsuhiro - I think for the combination of immediacy and functionality of the sequencer with FX, this is reasonably priced. So far I love the PO-12 and PO-14...and I'd really like the PO-32 Tonic and the Office. Some of the others are too 'chiptune' for my tastes.
@pprophet8 жыл бұрын
D. MC the PO32 is actually like 90 dollars and you also need the software
@DMC-mp9sx8 жыл бұрын
Exkaliber - you only need software if you want to add / replace sounds. And if you want, you can transmit patterns. It's not necessary to have the vst. But, I already own the vst so this would be a nice physical version of it with the benefits of the PO sequencer. I get that the price seems a tad high given the size and 'look' but considering the sound, and morphing capabilities and sequencer immediacy...I still think it's a good value and the fact it can be edited so easily is a bonus. I also think this sounds pretty amazing IMHO.
