@@chazlon5061 @TheKetsa Actually I did get an ultrasound because I had a pretty bad pain in the liver region for about 2 weeks, at the time of the scan the pain was gone though but of course it showed the fat deposits in the liver. I've been pretty much around the threshold between overweight and obesity for some years, BMI of 30, so it's definitely not that if did fall from the sky. I was afraid that because of the pain I would already be at stage 2, NASH, non alcoholic steatohepatitis, but apparently the fat deposits make the liver swell and expand, that can cause pain though most fatty livers go undetected until in the inflammation stage so personally I am grateful that I did get an earlier warning by my body. Anyways, due to the symptoms I knew what was coming and started losing weight before I even had the official diagnosis, hopefully that pain was a one time event.

I've been eating more whole grains and pulses after reading your book, "How not to Die". I'm a little worried about the amount of herbicides I'm ingesting though, since I read that conventionally grown dried grains and pulses are sprayed with herbicides to dry them out. It's even been found in some organic products according to one test. I'm also in Canada, and Health Canada is proposing to increase the amount of glyphosate residue allowed on foods, such as whole grains and pulses, at concentrations higher than what's allowed in the US and the International Standard. I learned from one of your videos that the surfactants in the final herbicide formula can be toxic. I also read elsewhere that sometimes, heavy metals such as arsenic and lead can be in the formula as well. Yum!

My sister got it around age 25... also gallbladder disease (she had it removed); she went keto and lost a bunch of weight, but I have no idea if her liver is ok. I doubt she cares, since she’s pretty superficial about health. We don’t communicate any longer (politics) or I’d ask how she’s doing... the thing is, keto is very hard to stick to forever, and the second she challenges her body with any carbs, she’s in trouble. I expect to hear she’s full blown diabetic in a few years, from the keto. She’s resistant to facts
@suicune20013 жыл бұрын
@@seitanbeatsyourmeat666 Yeah, I think a year before my friend had fatty liver disease, he had to get a cyst or something removed from his chest. Basically a build up of proteins from eating too much meat. He eats something like 16oz steak every friday and refuses to give that up. But he's very apathetic to pretty much everything, including his own health. So he's just going to keep doing whatever until he either has consequences he doesn't want to deal with or he dies. That's the thing about keto. You will lose weight doing it and I'm sure everyone thinks it's so delicious but it's extremely restrictive and even people like Paul Saladino who made millions selling his stupid BS book couldn't stand being in ketosis and now eats rice every day. Keto is so hard on the body. It's hard on your liver, kidneys, gives you diabetes, and osteoporosis since it's an acidic state to be in. But it's funny because one of my friends tried keto and all he complained about was how he missed rice and mashed potatoes. lol. And I'm sitting over here like, "I lost 60 pounds eating all the rice and mashed potatoes I want. :P Maybe you should try it!" But noooo, giving up meat / dairy / eggs is too restrictive. But eating ONLY meat / dairy / eggs is considered sensible and reasonable.

Today, I am not pre-diabetic, my BP is 126/82, and my liver enzymes are normal. I still exercise. I weigh 30 pounds less than I did. *Fatty liver, liver cirrhosis, liver cell carcinoma, hepatitis ... all liver diseases come from fat/cholesterol, not from carbohydrates/sugar* 1. Cholesterol is not only deposited in the arteries, but also in the liver. 2. Cholesterol oxidizes and regulates receptors that make the liver fat. 3. Cholesterol ensures that white blood cells secrete inflammatory substances, which leads to fatty liver. 4. Free cholesterol accumulates in fatty liver cells, where it crystallizes and leads to liver inflammation (hepatitis). 5. Observed at 9000 for 13 years: Cholesterol consumption is strongly correlated with liver cirrhosis and liver cancer: Cholesterol oxidizes in the body and causes toxic and carcinogenic effects. 6. To protect yourself from the toxic effects of cholesterol, the body releases the cholesterol into the blood, so by measuring the non-HDL cholesterol one can estimate how fatty the liver is. _No patients with non-HDL-C less than 130 mg/dl developed Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFL)._ 7. When you eat fat, you feed the bad bacteria in your gut that promote inflammation and then contribute to leaky gut. This activates the innate defense system in the liver and damages the liver on a cellular level. _Dietary fat -> Dysbiosis in the intestine -> PAMP's -> Intestinal permeability translocation of PAMP's -> Activation of TLR's -> Lipogenesis, Inflammation, Oncogenesis -> 1. Sucrose (table sugar) is a disaccharide composed of one molecule of glucose bonded to one molecule of fructose. Unlike glucose, fructose is metabolised like alcohol hence it can lead to fatty liver when consumed as sucrose but not when consumed in fruits due to the delayed absorption caused by the dietary fibre in fruit. You would have to gorge on fruits to get an overload, very uncomfortable. Best wishes.

Hi, Courtney Power! Dr. Greger does not suggest eating less carbs. As he says in the video, it's not how many carbs you eat, but what kind. White flour and added sugar are to be avoided, but carbohydrates from whole grains and other whole plant foods are good. The amount of fat, especially saturated fat in the diet is the main problem in fatty liver disease, so cutting fat is important. Dr Gregor also explains why a smoothie is not as beneficial as eating the whole fruit. "Loss of cell integrity" leads to more rapid absorption and a faster insulin spike. The blender mechanically breaks up the long chain complex carbohydrates including cellulose, so the constituent glucose molecules enter the blood stream so much faster they can overwhelm the body's cells ability to make use of them. Sustained high blood sugar has to go somewhere---> liver and fat cells. Whole dates, not added oil or sugar are OK in very small amounts ;).

No, sadly there is no recommended safe intake of table sugar (sucrose) and it is 99.9% pure chemical. (Sea salt on the other hand has a host of trace elements along with the major component, sodium chloride). Table sugar, is not a whole food in that form. Eat sugar cane and the effects are the opposite due to all the fibre and trace minerals. The only two essential fatty acids are not saturated and they are found in plants. Sucrose is highly addictive and I still haven't cured my addiction. However, I am always conscious when I nowadays "go off the bandwagon" . Just like an alcoholic. "Once an addict, always an addict".

So COCONUT, a common food eaten daily and regularly in parts of world, is not good due to the saturated fat? Grains are sprayed with Roundup, Glycosate, a herbicide pesticide which may cause Cancer. Canadian grains contains less, supposedly. Oh well, what can you do; you can't avoid everything bad. I stopped a lot of refined white bread foods, eating only one egg a week, including no alcohol and I think I feel better. But I don't like oatmeal; I need brown sugar on it! Oh well.

I’ve started eating oat groats every day. I swear it’s making me feel better! ❤️🩹

I agree. Oat Groats are great. I make a pot every weekend & have it for breakfast each day with fruits/flax seeds plus using it often as the grain for my stir-frys & other dishes.

Oats are anti-inflammatory and are a good staple food as they supply a low to moderate glycemic energy source.

@@raylo996 I just cook 2 tablespoons for 7 minutes in shallow water in the instant pot. You may have purchased old grains, is the only explanation I can think of as to why they’re hard. Most of my molars are broken and I need them pulled so if I can chew them then they can’t be hard. 😥

@@raylo996 Part of the benefits of groats versus rolled oats is that you can never chew it enough. This makes more of the resistant fibre available for your gut microbiome. Huge health benefits to this type of fibre. But wean yourself onto this as the post-digestive effects can be dramatic ;).
