Not basketball IQ, he’s just got experience and actually knows wtf he’s talking about. People hyping up wemby don’t know shit about basketball, and the rest are just riding the wave. Unfortunately the ones drafting guys like wemby have just as much ball experience as a high schooler. Same thing as the disconnect between office workers and upper management.

Most of San Antonio's past draft picks had been good to excellent in the past 20+ years. Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Murray, Leonard, derrick White, Keldon Johnson, Jeremy Sochan, Cory Joseph, George Hill, Luis Scola, Kyle Anderson, Tiaggo Splitter. I mean, the Spurs really don't have the luxury to pick lottery picks in the past 20 years, and everytime they get a top 1-10 it turns out to be a star.

It doesn't say anything. Wemby played in a professional league last year, against real physical professional players, unlike 90% of the rest of the draft who played against college players at best. People that never hooped fr don’t understand this. Comfortability is huge. If you bother a shooters shot mechanics THATS what really affects if he makes or misses, but you have to do this early on. Like Draymond said, once a good basketball player gets in rhythm and gets his confidence contesting a shot is almost meaningless at that point.

@@lordkaiser1404 It’s just my opinion. The highlights I’ve watched and the 2 games he’s played so far it seems like he will need the type of offense I described for longevity and some load management. He will also need to develop a rim protecter defense and stop getting left on islands at the top of the key or their going to keep attacking him making him exert a lot of energy. 44 game seasons is a lot different than an 82 game season not including the playoffs. I just don’t want to see the young fellow’s career plagued with injuries. Fatigue brings on injury.

Dray made some solid points but the biggest one he made is regarding Vic dribbling. What people see on his highlights when it comes to him dribbling need to wipe that out of their heads immediately. Vic is going to pick up his dribble alot especially this early in his career because hes facing much better defenders that are much lower to the ground than he is. Going to be interesting the approach Pop takes with him, because some and or half of what he did overseas isnt going to work in the NBA, I'm more excited about his presence around the rim than anything, people are caught up in his offensive out put but with his agility and overall athleticism wouldnt surprise me if he leads the league in blocks 2 to 3 years from now.

Press up into him at an angle mainly putting you weight into the side of his knees. Something I did when I was a small center in hs at 6’3’’ and had to guard 6’9’’-7’ If they do catch it it will put them off balance when one of their legs will be basically buckling due to weight you are pressing into their knee. Won’t be able to turn and go to the basket and can only often go for a bad off balance fade shot. Often for me would force them to get out of the paint to try to reset so is a good way to stop players bigger than you from try to bully you down under with their size. When they do go outside you have to stay up in their face when they face forward to stop them from try to step through and drive. Take away that first step from them and force them to pass it.
