My coworker is 56, he played diablo when I wasn't born, he played with his son when diablo first came out and he plays with his son d4 now. But even he who was a die hard fan complains about d4, makes a nice work convo. I told him to try poe 2 but he saw poe 1 and said is too much for him and the graphics are not great in poe 1 (in his words), so I kinda gave up. Today when I went to work he jumped on me like a kid and asked me if I watched poe 2 Livestream, I said yeah, and he started telling me how he watched 5 hrs of it from different KZbinrs, and how he can't wait for December 6th. He told me he called his son and they are both so excited to play it. But the most interesting fact from this is how much he started hating on diablo, he ranted the whole day how diablo is light years behind, how big of a difference it is. I couldn't believe it honestly but I'll take it. My point from this little thing is, I played diablo since I was a kid, but after poe I can never go back, and even this guy who played it with his son sitting in his lap for longer than my entire life switched so hard. If you think the og fans will not give up on diablo for poe, you are coping hard, is season 7 and is the same boring shit, diablo does not have the diablo like. Is made by a team pushed by deadlines and greed, which is not allowed to have imagination and is not allowed to break rules. Is a husk and it will end up worse than d3. That tweet shows what type of people run it.

Diablo fans of the first hour know how much passion and dedication GGG has put into PoE over the years and that it was heavily influenced by D2, so most of us will gladly try out PoE2. I quit D3 when it became too crazy for me with all the rift speed runs and one skill spamming. Didn't plan to play D4 initially, because I thought I was done with ARPGs ... then I played the D4 pre-lunch test for 24h and was completely sucked back into it. Everybody was hyped about D4 at the start and it took a while until we realized how many bugs this game had and that it was unfinished in many areas. We'll see how PoE2 looks in 2 months. I'm optimistic that GGG is the more competent team, but if we actually like their design remains to be seen. I recently played D2r again. Back in the days I was crazy about D2. Today it feels to me like hard work with a lot of missing QoL features, but it still has a great atmosphere. Tbh I don't think I can go back to these days, so I hope PoE2 won't become a game were I feel the same pain.

Ofc i started with D2 back i nthe day.... but the freedom that POE gave us is unrivaled.... every league, they think up some silly power increase, change some thing, and just give you systems to mess around with.... they dont mind if you create a godmode build, they will nerf it for next league, but for now? enjoy your creation!.... they admit often enough that they dont really know what interactions with different systems will do or what people might find... I hope you will enjoy the improved version as much as I did.✌️ ( If you look for a direction a streamer called Pohx and Zizaran helped me out allot when I joined) I even joined another Poe streamer called Zish who inspected my build and it was probably the best laugh him and his chat got, he was stunned that I made it to lvl 92 with that build xd, after that he explained in detail what I'm doing wrong and his community even started messaging me offering me items to help me out, is a great community, one of the best I've seen.

15:35 you hit the nail on the head. Blizzard focuses a lot on campaigns and cutscenes - and I love those - but their endgame lacks. PoE 1 had the opposite problem. Endgame was great but the campaign sucked and they refused to let us skip it. Hopefully PoE 2's campaign is much, much better than the first time around, but regardless I will continue to play D4 on new season / expansion launches just to keep up with the story because I really enjoy Diablo lore. It's somewhat of a blessing that D4's endgame sucks, because I can look forward to playing for a week or two every time there's a new launch and then go back to grinding in PoE.

Same here, first played D2 demo in 2001, so a little later than launch but I loved it ever since. That said, it was a little too time consuming for my taste to actually complete a character journey. D3 fixed that and D4 is a mix of the two - but guess what, Path of Exile has elements literally copied from those two games. Sure they expanded on that but it may be a little easier to paint a house than build it from scratch.

That is not true, I am more of what you would call a casual and I finished the campaign with SB, did not like it that much, made a new Barb, and already got the Mythics I wanted for a decent endgame, and now I build on that. And mind you, there are 4 Mythics for a classic Barb experience. It is annoying seeing SB clear the room in no time, but it is the face of the expansion so it was to be expected. It doesn’t mean you cannot have fun with your class though. This is PvE not PvP.

Diablo player brothers. Please set your expectations first. Poe2 come this dec 6 is just an early access and not the full game. POE2 is not an easy game. Infact it is very hard. Dont forget they are saying souls like game. If you die in boss area. The fight will reset from the start. And when doing endgame, you will only have 6 portal to finish the area. If you fail, they path with end and you need to find different route to progress. You should need to have some mechanical skills. This is not a stand up then hack and slash the enemy to death. At this point in time, Diablo doesn't need defenders. hard to defend a dead product. We all know their are creators that Blizzard pays to stream Diablo, that is confirmed, common practice in gaming. Blizzard hasnt learned. When you spend a year fixing a game because you are so out of touch with your community, you dont deserve anymore chances or the respect of the community. Best thing they could do is lie down and die, and start over. You overcharge for your product, ignore the community. POE 2 sorcerer is pretty much Diablo with the same gameplay and even the names are the same (POE didn’t even at least rename them- the only difference is POE is just with fancier animation). I even saw spiritborn evade’s animation during that POE reveal too. It’s too bad- I wished POE at least had their own original sorcerer gameplays- rather than copying the basis of diablo’s sorcerer gameplay. POE 2 “blood maiden” looks exactly the same as D4’s blood maiden. This is why Diablo will never be called “POE-like” and POE will always be in the shadow of Diablo. People can talk shit about diablo all they like. But the truth is: If there was no diablo, then POE wouldn’t exist. As a player of both games- I enjoy both of them the same.

If I can use PoE 1 as a template, I think you can, but it depends on what your properly means. You don't have to do everything, you can choose one or two things, most people don't engage with every mechanic anyway since you probably can't enjoy every single one.

Yep. I'm a long time player so your mileage will greatly vary but I'd play 2-3 hours a day after work during league launches and have WAY WAY more money and better gear than people complaining on reddit that they only had 5 exalted orbs or whatever. Experience trumps time.
