The FADEC is also responsible for Performance Control ( HP/LP Turbine Active Clearance Control, Core Compartment Cooling system, Variable Stator Vane ( VSV System) these systems use Servo Fuel Pressure from the HMU ( Hydromechanical Unit) to operate special actuators , the FADEC receives position data from sensors installed on the Actuators to effectively monitor and control the systems mentioned above.

Are there FADEC components that are considered a LRU? Also how do major FADEC components get upgraded (remotely or via factory update)?
@poh3 жыл бұрын
I'll have to check that with engineering team since I'm a pilot I'll not have specific and correct details on that.

GENERAL The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is supplied from the aircraft electrical power when the engine is shut down or when N258%. POWERING N258% As soon as the engine is running above 58% of N2, the Control Alternator supplies the ECU. The PMA supplies each channel with three-phase AC power. Two transformer rectifiers provide 28 VDC power supply to channels A and B. Above 58% of N2, the ECU logic automatically switches to the control alternator supply. In case of control alternator failure, the ECU will automatically switch over the 28VDC power supply from the aircraft network, available as a back-up through the EIU. so 12% or 58 % N2 ??
@poh6 жыл бұрын
It is N2 12% only. There are different types of alternators as well. So yeah

I came to know about that apu bleed starts a small engine , this small engine shaft is connected with engine shaft. Can you please tell me something about that in detail?
@poh6 жыл бұрын
No idea on that.
@mdmahtabkhan87534 жыл бұрын
I think AME give the information about this topic
@rekha_raia320_fe44 жыл бұрын
@beno jasper first of all APU is itself a single stage gas turbine engine which delivers bleed air( pneu) to the engine that is pneu starter. This pneu starter is aerodynamically connected to gear mechanism thus transmit the power to the N2 shaft that is high press shaft and then the other functions takes place accordingly. Hence in short we can say a small engine (APU) starts the main engine. Hope that is clear!! 🙂

Are the modes of FADEC manually selected or is it also an automatic function performed by itself?
@poh7 жыл бұрын
All modes are automatically taken care of.

@@poh on Boeing Airplanes , there isn't a " Mode selector" , the EEC ( ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLER) switches continues ignition once the Starer Cuts off to push the Engine to idle power. Boeing also equipped the Airplanes ( long haul) with a button that once pushed switches the ignition system to pulse the ignitors continuesly , providing backup incase the Automatic Ignition system fails to protect against FLAMEOUT ( In-flight and on the ground). this future is available on : -Boeing 777 -Boeing 757/767 -Boeing 747 -Boeing 787 These are also equipped with redundant Autobrake system offering : - RTO ( MAXIMUM BRAKE POWER enough to stop the airplane with out delay, this is available when the pilots decide to abort takeoff ( Ground) and its also used brake the wheels prior to Landing Gear Retraction ( in-flight), once the Landing Gears are up and locked, the system is disengaged automatically and the brakes are locked -Max Auto ( Maximum Manual braking pressure + Autobrake) for rapid braking incase RTO isn't available ( on the ground to abort takeoff and acts as Emergency Brake) - Autobrake 1 and 2 ( braking is initiated after a delay to warm up the brakes before they are engaged to provide deceleration on longer runways Autobrake 3 and 4 ( applied immediately after landing without delay for increased deceleration rate on shorter runways -Off : Resets the system in the following cases : - Reversers Stowed - Speed Brakes Down - Autobrake selector moved to Off by the pilots - Rudder pedals pushed down for manual braking anyone of the conditions above is enough for this to happen on the the ground - Disarm ( turns off the system and its hydraulic supply to help save fuel and reduce loads on the Hydraulic pumps ( Demand and Engine Driven Pump).

sir why idg in aircraft black in colour? I am searching answer of this question since long time hope you will reply
@poh7 жыл бұрын
You'll have to ask about this to an engineer.
@rekha_raia320_fe44 жыл бұрын
@abhay dube the qsn asked is imp from the engineering point of view, the IDG has special coating of black color which helps dissipate heat n reduce the magnetic interference especially (radio) which can cause due it's operation . Hope you ve got the answer! 🙂
