Honestly Emerald with Poison, Bug, or Flying type Pokémon is gonna be incredibly fun (because you will get straight up walled by multiple gym leaders). However I would love to see you do a hardcore Nuzlocke of USUM. I personally find them to be incredibly difficult games, with most Pokémon having broken movesets, perfect IVs, max EVs, and the AI being really good. Great work man, keep it up!

I did a (not-Nuzlocke) run like this with Red's team from HGSS, not realizing that I wasn't actually playing as Red until I met the actual Blue in Pewter City. Blind runs make for fun surprises like that. I still had fun with this game, but I also didn't pay any money for it :p It was pretty braindead easy though, I remember scouring the pokemon status screen looking for abilities and held items. I think interacting with Pikachu/Eevee was supposed to be the main selling point, which I was dubious about because I don't even like Pikachu but Eevee's noises grate on my nerves plus it's actually less in depth than playing with them in Pokemon Amie or Pokemon Camp. But I did enjoy dressing my female Pikachu up like Sailor Moon until we were able to cosplay Team Rocket like I've always dreamed of.

In all fairness to Let's Go, they weren't designed for old fans and instead designed to bring in the new fans who ONLY knew Pokémon Go, so they could learn the mechanics and aspects of the main games without being thrown into completely unfamiliar territory. After all, Go lacked many conventional things the main games had, such as type-specific gyms, type immunities, a chooseable and changeable move set, and an actual story line that wasn't just field quests. For that reason alone, I'm honestly willing to give the games a pass, as their function was to bring Go players into the main games, which is a pretty noble cause in my opinion. Not to say there shouldn't have been more fun and challenge for returning players who played the main games, just that there'd be an obvious bias against Let's Go when you're a main game player, where Let's Go wasn't geared nor aimed toward that audience. At least Let's Go makes shiny hunting easier. (I say that, yet it still took literally 20 irl hours with Magikarp at the highest catch combo to actually get a shiny one to spawn, with the shiny charm. Oof.)

Ash did not earn a lot of badges, they even make this joke in the Blaine episodes. Ash helps stop an erupting volcano, so Blaine says something and ash says “ do your giving e a volcano badge?” Blaine face faults “ what, I was going to say I’ll give you an opportunity to earn the volcano badge”
