The mechanics are on point with a good EK battle, but the major difference is basically just not having EVs to maximize strengths and minimize weaknesses. Also EK is having to do it for 400 battles whereas in Emerald it's mostly just 10 or 12 battles.

28:07 "And the AI's smart enough to know what that means. But it isn't smart enough to know what's about to happen next." Bro that line was ICE COLD. This deserves a lot more views, the strats are so fucking genius but viewers can easily understand them because you explain them extremely well. Being able to use a fucking MAGIKARP to whittle down Altaria to a point where it can be OHKO'd and intentionally letting Claydol live so you can perish song + shadow tag trap the Metagross blew my goddamn mind and those were one of the best plays I've seen in my life. The editing is great too. A 30 minute video usually feels like something I have to slog through, but here the pacing was so good that time just flew by while I was getting more amazed by the minute.

I have a Nuzlocke idea for you. Emerald post-game. If you want to include post-game level caps: rules for this would be 1. After becoming Champion, all areas are open for a 2nd catch encounter. OPTIONAL: Permanently box all Pokemon owned after becoming Champion, or continue to allow their use, but only if inside current level cap for the next Gym Leader. 2. After defeating all Gym Leaders 1st rematches all areas are open for a 3rd catch encounter. 3. After defeating all Gym Leaders 2nd rematches all areas are open for a 4th catch encounter. 4. After defeating all Gym Leaders 3rd rematches all areas are open for a 5th catch encounter. 5. Defeating all Gym Leaders 4th rematches is a goal to win the run. 6. Defeating Steven is a goal to win the run. Steven should only be battled after defeating all Gym Leader rematches for the 4th time. 7. Match Call trainers should not be battled until after becoming Champion. 8. All Match Call trainers must be located and rematched but only rematched on a pace of as often as the Gym Leader rematches are. (If you are on Gym Leader rematch #1 than each Match Call trainer should only have been rematched 1 time so far.) All Match Call trainers (excluding Wally) should have their 1st rematch battle completed before challenging Juan for his 1st rematch, 2nd rematch battle completed before Juan's 2nd rematch, etc. 9. Every trainer in the game (including Trick House, excluding Battle Frontier, Battle Tents and Trainer Hill,) must be battled. If including Battle Frontier, a wipe still is run loss. Having a Pokemon revived in between battles means you must quit the Facility Challenge and box that Pokemon as dead. (Battle Pike can exclude this.) Judging KOs are not a death. Battle Factory 1 Faint means must swap that Pokemon. 2 Faint means must quit Factory Challenge. 3 Faint equals run dead. 9. The Elite Four may be used to grind exp after 1 rematch at level cap. Wally may be used to grind exp after his 4th rematch. Gabby & Ty after their Route 120 rematch. 10. If doing Battle Frontier for all Gold Symbols, this may be attempted at any time at any level. Level Caps: (Source Serebii) 1st Rematch Gabby & Ty Route 111: 33 Roxanne: 37 Brawley: 37 Wattson: 40 Flannery: 40 Norman: 45 Winona: 45 Tate & Liza: 50 Juan: 51 Wally: 51 Elite Four: 55 2nd Rematch Gabby & Ty Route 118: 36 Roxanne: 42 Brawley: 42 Wattson: 45 Flannery: 45 Norman: 50 Winona: 50 Wally: 54 Tate & Liza: 55 Juan: 56 3rd Rematch Gabby & Ty Route 120: 39 Roxanne: 47 Brawley: 47 Wattson: 50 Flannery: 50 Norman: 55 Winona: 55 Wally: 57 Tate & Liza: 60 Juan: 61 4th and Final Rematch Roxanne: 52 Brawley: 52 Wattson: 55 Flannery: 55 Wally: 57 (Same team as rematch 3) Norman: 60 Winona: 60 Tate & Liza: 60 Juan: 60
