Can I beat Pokemon White 2 with only Fire Type Pokemon using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules? (No, I will not try this in Diamond/Pearl)
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Fire Type Pokemon on each Route (Species Clause); This includes Pokemon that evolve into Fire types
3. Nickname Pokemon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset (from Pokemon Challenges):
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

Monotype runs are so fun not only to play, but also to watch. The fire type is in an especially weird spot. It's easily one of the best offensive types, but it's also extremely useful defensively until you see that its 3 weaknesses are some of the most common attacking types in the game. Fire would be OP defensively, both in nuzlockes and in competitive, but with Water, Rock, and Ground being some of the most common attacking types, the fire type rarely gets to show off its defensive capability.

So for this specific run, if someone were to re-create it for themselves to do, there is a potential option to consider with Ninetales. If you specifically hunt for the Vulpix in the hidden grotto there in Abundant Shrine, you can get the one with its HA, Drought. This has two potential benefits: one, automatic-setting sun means going against water types is survivable since the sun weakens water attacks (also thanks to busted weather-setting abilities, the sun is permanent too til something else comes in). Two, Solarbeam, Ninetales can learn it and paired with the sun out from Drought, this is a single-turn move to kill water types. The only obvious downsides with this; Vulpix in the grotto is 1% chance to appear. It could take forever trying to get this thing to show up. And it's too late-game, so really limited in its use for the team, unless you're in dire straits. Two, a slower water type with Drizzle or Sand stream kills your sun, requiring a switch-out (and in mono-fire, probably not good to do so) or have Sunny Day taking up a move slot to reset the weather. And depending on your opponent, if they have Rain dance or Sandstorm in their moveset, you have to make sure you outspeed them to get that Solarbeam off before the weather changes (especially with sand since it boosts ground rock and steel types Sp.Def). You don't want to get locked into Solarbeam's normal turn length, because that may hinder your chance to kill a target quickly enough.
