Agree, I wish this would have a little bit more features so it can be used 24/7 to monitor and give you overall health statistics (i.e. sleep patterns, etc...). Not everyone wants a smart watch and Polar is the closest thing I would be willing to wear. I prefer my standard automatic watches :)

This is the first Fitbit I have used. It has some new features kzbin.infoUgkxbkrje8Y7BaqRkAjimw-55ajvVo7RbcIp and I like the information that it gives me.I think the phone app could be designed to be a bit more accommodating, as it can be confusing to use. The rubber band is comfortable, and normally I do not like rubber bands for my watches, but this is comfortable.I am looking forward to seeing if this helps me stay accountable in my fitness endeavors!My only gripe is the box was very damaged when it arrived, however, the tracker is performing perfectly!

Loved the section where you actually used the Polar app. That was something I don't see in the other videos I have watched. When you did the burpees live on the app it really showed me what I wanted to see in how the app worked to show the actual heart rate. I need to keep an eye on it as I exercise since I do have a heart condition. So I really appreciate the review of the paired app. I am guessing it works pretty much the same for android. A complete review also on the strap and how to wet etc. really helped me make an informed decision and know how to use it when I get it for a real readout. So a great review. Below is not a review of your H10 review. I'm not a fitness coach but the way you did your overhead press scared me. Looks like you were using you back way too much. I go to a Les Mills class at my gym (body pump) and they emphasize not to swing it back and forward like you did so as to protect your back. I have had a back issue before and it is painful when the back goes out. Les Mills always say keep the bar next to your body as it goes up and flip the wrist as it goes up. As I said, I'm not a fitness coach so take it for what it is worth.

What is the point of selecting an activity? What does the app do (or tell you) different between hiking and walking? Hiking is walking but on dirt and usually with some hills. That's about it so why have the selections? Is it only so you can customize the Heart Rate Zones or what? Set different alarms? Or is it just strictly to monitor and save data by activity? If that's the case can you create custom activities like hiking a particular trail vs a different trail? What about RUN/WALK sessions?
@karlint39
@karlint39 3 жыл бұрын
I wanted to see someone demonstrate using this for tracking walking with an Apple Watch (and iPhone) before buying one of these. The Apple Watch heart rate tracking is pretty hit-or-miss, but the integration with the iPhone health app is great. So I was hoping this would solve the problem. I'm still not sure if it will.

@@erin758 Yeah. I've seen a bunch of his videos. He's a great reviewer and very very thorough. I now use the Polar H10 daily, and have the Apple Watch Series 8 (i.e. the newest one, but not the Ultra). The H10 pairs seamlessly with Apple Watch, but the Apple Watch heart rate monitor itself (which the Quantified Scientist didn't seem to have any complaints about) ... well in my case, it only reads my heart rate when I am walking 20% of the time? It's pretty worthless, to be honest. But the apple watch + Polar H10 is perfect. I just feel like I'm wearing a bra or something. Even so, I'd recommend the H10 to ANYONE who wants a reliable read of their heart rate while exercising. The Apple Watch simply doesn't even come close in terms of getting a constant uninterrupted reading.

Exactly what Im trying to figure out. I have looked everywhere and cannot find the answer. If it does not then it is useless in my opinion.

You would need a fitness tracker like a Garmin, Apple Watch, Fit Bit or Suntuu (etc) watch to pair this strap with. Those devices can be set to alert you of HR Zone breach (among many other metrics). The purpose of the chest strap is to offer the most accurate collection of heart rate data...more so than the native capability of the watch style fitness monitors that use optical sensors vice EKG style sensors used in the Polar H9/H10.

Great review. For me real time heart rate is extremely important. I have been using Fitbit Charge 3. It has some lag time and does not give true real time HR. It will show your HR but you have to twist your wrist just right to get it. Accuracy with the Fitbit is not so good when working out. Polar does need to give more information on the chest strap as far as how to use with phone, etc.

Yeah, the fitbit isn't as accurate, you're going to struggle finding a super accurate wristband. Definitely a good move for a chest strap for accuracy, what type of training are you using it for?

@@SchuyFit Arobic exercise. While standing on a 6 inch foam balance pad I bounce a tennis ball between both hands. It works most of the core muscles, upper body and hands. It is very easy to get to and maintain a level that is considered cardio.

I got one as gift after being inactive for years but I need to know if it has real time heart rate display if I connect my Samsung watch with it if it can?

I'm looking for something to track my hr and calories thru the day, but can't wear a watch at work. Do you think this will work or is there something better out there?

This probably wouldn't work since it would drain your battery super fast. The only other thing I could think of is to get a Whoop and use the upper arm strap instead of the wrist strap.
