Steve and I met as complete strangers, he didn't know who I was. I offered to buy the much nicer 67 mustang he was driving, which led to him telling me about this 68. He showed me some pictures and we agreed on a price of $5000. You see, you can do this crazy thing where you aren't an asshole and actually TALK to other humans, sometimes you'll be amazed at what comes of it.

Ha dalton put you in there, as a 15 year old with my father being to broke for cars and him not having a great interest in working on them, we don’t have anything, so using a fake marketplace account and talking to people for 120 bucks I have a low mile (now completely disassembled and stored at my friends house) 69 302 which came with an edelbrock 289 preformer, and when I get a job and get later into high school I’ve looked at even solid body 70 mustangs (I like 70s) that were 6 cyls and sadly not fastbacks (70 fastbacks look better) but I could talk pricing down, and do some experienceless “bodywork” and “paint” so it looks “nice” then stroke my 302, good parts, can still just drive it, get a t5, upgrades and it will handle the 347, get some qa1 parts, maybe change the front brakes to disk if they aren’t already, just make my own exhaust, interior is whatever, aftermarket hood maybe later on, like of of the shaker ones, and for that, a fun, 500hp high revving, high speeds, cruising, comfy, good lookin 70 stang will cost 20k, which I know is a lot but at the same time it’s a 500hp high revving reliable thing that looks good (yes I know I didn’t include rims or tires for a reason) dalton is right problem is is everything cost money to be great, but not everything costs money to be worth it, some things cost effort

Yes that would be cool….as i myself am battling a ‘67 c code coupe that my teenage son was very convinced he needed, his to was that same pastel powder blue color originally but my childhood friend that we got the car from had it re-sprayed back in the 90’s….its a cortez silver with very very dark blue rally stripes (damn near black, until under bright light or direct sun)….i thought they were black for years until a few weeks ago when i was washing it in the august sun light and i seen a mettalic sparkle, thats when i brought out a very large halogen style hand held flood light and discovered it was a very dark deep mettalic blue!!!!…..we are currently building a late 90’s roller cam 302 out of an Explorer to replace the tired 289….were gonna put a mild trickflow stage 2 cam and a set of aluminum heads along with higher compression pistons….shooting for 10.25:1 compression, already converted the 289 to efi and it will be swapped onto the 302 when it goes in, just gotta pick up a 2500/3000 rpm stall convertor for the c4 trans that was just completely rebuilt literally less than a month ago…..its coming together slowly but surely!!!

Makes me wish I still had my 67 GTA that was the same color of frost turquoise. It was in better shape than your 68, but not by too much. Owned it more than 20 years and thought it was my keeper, but tough times and financial desperation forced me to sell. Got $3000 for it back in 2013. Sad thing is the last 5 years I owned it, I didn't drive it. It just sat in the garage because I wanted to restore it to perfection. I appreciate Dalton's wisdom about just getting stuff running so you can enjoy it while you work on it. Thing is, it ran good with a nice built 302 before I parked it. Nice car, Dalton. Yes, I think we ALL would love to see this one restored. I love the South West. My wife and I have traveled to Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. So many things to do and see. Unfortunately, my wife doesn't feel the same as me. She prefers beaches and palm trees!

Yep! Need to see more of it, but make this one the best work we've seen from ya. Would be great to do a 5 speed swap on it!

the instagram posts people make of saving their project cars really get to me. the ones where the car is quoted saying things like "hello friend! i might not look like much, but i can still drive!" and "wow! a new set of tires! are you gonna take care of me now?" the human ability to love and nurture almost anything is crazy.

That old hawk mural was still pretty cool despite how faded its become. Would love to see 'The Mustang That Could' get all fixed up! What a dang sweet car.

Old buddy, you need a good pair of insulated coveralls for your winter treks. This car would be a great subject for future videos.

I want to see more of it, I like the sweat equity and your builds motivate me to keep working on a part at a time then saving up more cash. Honestly you will probably have this, the lemans and crispy goat for what one decent driver cost.

man, thanks fer takin us on a tour through your country dude! Stay free Muricha, from 🇨🇦🍻 Also, rwd was really the only option even for us Canadians back when. We're prolly around the same age, but had some crazy winter driving fun in the old 81 LeMans...good times:p

I had a '68. Sold it 10 years ago. 😞 It had the signal indicators in the hood. Needed a lot of work but loved it. I hope you keep this little girl under a roof. She deserves it.

Had the same year stang back in HS. It was painted Harley Orange with a Black Stripe. Many trips to Anchorage , 4 1/2 hours away on Fridays so we could cruise “the strip”. Good old days 😂
