Agreed, those General Motors A-Body cars were the best-looking cars, in my opinion. I rank my list in order with certain model years: 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle/Malibu 1970-1972 Buick Special/Skylark 1968-1972 Pontiac Tempest/LeMans 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass 1968-1969 Beaumont 1968-1969 Chevrolet Chevelle/Malibu

Just like the Grand Prix video took me down memory lane, this one does as well. My brother had a 72 Lemans when i was a kid. It was painted "Goddess Gold" and had gold wheels to match. 350/TH 350. It was his pride and joy. Got ass packed by an inattentive driver doing 55mph in an Astro van. Didn't even tap the brakes i remembered hearing. Car sat with the trunk folded into the rear passenger area for years with my brother claiming one day he would revive it. Life got in the way though, he moved on, and the car eventually got parted out and scrapped. Sad end. Your Lemans looks and sounds badass. Enjoy many more years and miles with it!

As a fella who admittedly might just love his own car a little (or lot more) than he should, I'm begging you to keep that old girl healthy and strong! Same with that old 70s Gran Marquis! I myself own a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis with a 302 ci/5.0 liter and drive her anytime the opportunity presents itself. I love Francine dearly and she's the one car i would never willingly part with. I love watching this channel as well as vgg and jyd both. But i would love to see you one day out on the road, you in one of your classics and me in my baby. I think we could easily make good friends with the kind of sense of humor we seemingly share. The AC/Heater control does have a vacuum switch connecting to it that opens/closes the vents. Any of those lines could be cracked, or the connection points may be leaking, or the selector switch is leaking. A quick fix assuming you don't care about the vents is to plug off the vacuum line going from the engine to AC/Heat controller.

Awesome video and what a cool car. It really makes me miss my first car, a 72 Buick Skylark. I did everything to that car. Except body work. Frame was solid but it was 3 different colors, raw bondo just slapped over holes in the body and I'm sure someone before me also did a bunch of hackery to keep it in one piece. Eventually I developed a large crack in the windshield and knew if I pulled it out, there would be nothing left to glue a new one to. Parted the car out and scrapped the shell once I picked up a 67 GS400 in slightly better shape. I sure wish I kept it though after seeing some of the cars you have brought back and kept on the road. Not everything has to be perfect to be enjoyed.

Sold it to buy an 04 tahoe. But i already had my '06 GTO at that point. Since then my uncle bought a perfect 72 GTO in your color combo. Your shaker hood and tach are awesome. I never could decide what cool stuff i could do with the LeMans front clip other than do an endura nose swap. Plan to drive my uncles 72 to my 20 year HS reunion next year!

I put a ten inch converter of unknown stall in my 350 s10 with a 700r4, it was way too loose and I could not deal with it in daily traffic driving- I pulled it out and went with a 12" 2400 flash stall and it is perfect for my combo. Also Dalton cutting off the self tappers in the trans tunnel :) I mounted my B&M shifter to the floor with self taps (original four cylinder stick shift truck) and over time every thing has flexed and torn the sheet metal, I need to pull the carpet and reinforce everything.

My dad had a Buick Electra Limited with a 455 in it, and one time he was taking my brother back home from the Dr's office, had the cruise set at 105. When he hit the end of Lanark on the highway, he pressed Resume on the cruise. It remembered the cruise even after power cycles. 35 to 105 in 5 seconds. Sounded a lot like this. Hopefully the vacuum line for the heater core/control set isn't too far buried to reach. Since you seem to venture into Iowa more often than not these days, see if you can find some QA1s that fit the LeMans. P.S. I think we found the reason your trans pan was full of clutch material. It's back there where the smoke was left through that stoplight.
