The reason why I Love watching your channel is the fact that you keep your family. Vehicles runnand use them for what they were intended to be used for. And you're raising your son to do the same. True family values keep up the great work.

I had an 80 with a 305 and a 1983 with a 350. Both were short beds. I know that's Grandpa's truck and it's just the work truck to you but even with the rust everything looks pretty straight and intact on it. Bumpers, Grill, body molding. Kudos to you for keeping Grandpa's truck.

Glad you've maintained the truck though, your grandad would be happy seeing it still going strong. Also now I fully understand why you ask us to tell you what we would like to see worked on lol. You got a ton of projects ready and dont know where to begin, those are tough decisions.

That's a cool truck with a great story! You just can't beat a squarebody as a workhorse, they just keep working and working and working.....and working. Always been a fan of squarebody trucks with "Grampa add-ons" too. Definitely a good candidate for routine maintenance videos! Do yourself a favor and put new striker bushings on it (a piece of pex works in a pinch)...looks like they were missing in the video. The doors will close like new again!

My. First time behind the wheel driving around the family farm cornfields was a ‘79 suburban with a 454 that was my grandfather’s as well. I miss that hull . Same wheel covers. Loved that look , especially with the little beefier tires he had . Nice truck. Cherish it .

I've always loved these square bodies... this one seems exceptional. Maybe cuz it was your grandpa's... the older I get the more I appreciate passing things to family - sad to say it seems like a lot of kids / grandkids don't give a rip about what was passed on to them... unless they can sell it. Keep your old square body Maybe your son will drive it when he's your age... or older

I know "Grandpas TRUCK" is an old video from about 2 years ago. But since I have just come out of a long sort of restore of my own 1986 K10 Custom Deluxe, and I know the work I had to do to clean it up, It would be great if you maybe worked on those truck box fenders over the wheel wells. Mine were ok, (so far) but my problem was the rear corner of the rear wheel fenders well. That nice shaped (curved) metal was, well interesting to bring back to a non hole look again. One thing I ran into was those stiffeners for that fender (behind the rear wheel). Darn things are built right up against the panel and mine had rusted apart so the fender flapped in the wind. That was an interesting fix as well. Now that I have suffered the experience, I can tell you where to look for the rust attacks, some places you would never think. and I can suggest what I am using to stop the rust (it is pretty common to find and may surprise you). That may be just a truck to you, but it will always be "Grandpas Truck", so it's worth a vid or two. And you are right, that is a nice looking truck.
