Polestar 2 4,000 Mile Road Trip Episode 3! Ron's 1st EV Road Trip!

Join us on our epic cross country adventure in our new 2022 Polestar 2 Dual Motor from Denver to San Diego to Louisville to Chicago. We journey over 4,000 miles and encounter extreme heat that puts the new Polestar to the test! This is Episode 3 of 3. In this episode, we drive from Louisville to Chicago. This is also my cousin's first experience in an EV road trip. At the end, I follow up with him to hear his thoughts on the Polestar and electric cars in general.

This was a fun watch while waiting for our PS2 to arrive. It's quite neat to see how EV driving is elsewhere, it reminds me a bit of how it was to drive EVs here before, though the range and charge speed now is of course way different, the amount of chargers and "plotting to get there with enough charge" was the same. Went for a drive yesterday and found they are setting up 14 new chargers at a Shell station by the highway. The Esso station on the other side of the road has 8 chargers. Another Shell station 1 min away has 4. Up the highway is another Esso station with 8 chargers next to a McD with 6. Up the road from that are two Shell stations with 8 chargers each, next to a Tesa charger with 36 stalls that is open for everyone (have already charged my new PS2 there). It just goes on and on, chargers are now everywhere, so the planning that you are doing here seems completely pointless here. I assume the US and other European countries will be there soon. I need to plan a little bit better once I leave Norway, but it seems outside Norway is building up rapidly as well. Having access to most Tesla chargers helps a lot :P We had similar setups, with chargers "hidden away" in "shady parking lots". Now, they are replacing gas pumps with chargers. It has been so fun to be a part of this travel since we swapped to EV 9 years ago.

It’s great to hear about the progress. The US has a very long way to go before we can ever get to the level that Norway is at.

​@@EVMotoring Now that US carmakers have started to get some speed on their EV production, I don't think it will be too long. They start to understand they need to act now or they will be irrelevant real soon. Getting in good charge network is a key to that. Having seen how many chargers we have gotten within just one year, I don't think it needs to be that far off elsewhere :)
