BYD already has #2 place in world of evs firmly in place, and they make their own batteries tesla buys off them and they make their own semiconductor chips , BYD is currently worlds most vertically integrated ev company...Polestar I like prospects of, but they have a loong loong way to go...BYD aims to sell 2.5 million cars in a year, up from 1.5 million already

While I love any opportunity to see the precept, I have to admit that I don’t fully understand why the precept (pre-production polestar 5) is shown for 3/4 of a video advertising the polestar 3. 🤔.

It's the car that inspired the styling for the Polestar 3 forward. But I agree with you. Let's see more Polestar 3. That's what is on sale next. Still, Polestar is showing much more than Volvo is showing of their "Embla." So I'll take what I can get.

Hey, mind telling us, which things you're not happy with? I'm very interested in the P2, had a test drive for nearly an hour, but that wasn't enough to really check everything. What I didn't like was the lack of space, caused by the huge middle console and the rather small windows made me kind of feel like sitting in a tank, overview to the rear and rear sides is not that great. On the other side I love the more neutral, not spacecraft-like design, which some other EVs have.

@@Corro_Dedd Once you get used to the interior it is a very nice car to drive and live with. However; 1. I had issues where I could not remove charging cable from the car 3-4 times over the past 2 years. Mechanics saw the error messages but were unable to figure out how to solve it. It hapens ultra rarely but still a pain when it does. 2. There is a bit of vibration noises from the seatbetl housings, the steering wheel housing and windshield vents. Mechanics were able to fix some of them, but they have to drive the car a lot to figure out all of the points that vibrate. Not all mechanics will do this. 3. Driving during heavy rain the speaker unit (under the car) got wet and failed, meaning the car did not make any sound while creeping or going in reverese. 4. The mirrors are all "borderless" yet the main infotainment unit (tablet) has a GIANT bezle. This is not a fault, just silly and makes the tablet look ancient. 5. The preformance Øhlins suspension is rough and too stiff on shitty roads, it is amazing on good tarmac tho. Also, the Bremo brakes are overkill and add to the cost, you will use engine breaking 99.9% of the time.

@@AlexDahlZ Thanks! Yes, I'm not sure yet if the narrowness will bother me or not, I don't have that much space in my current BMW 3 series E46 either. It's still a little less space in the front in the P2, but more for passengers in the back. However, I still felt very comfortable during the test drive. I understand, point 1 can be quite annoying, especially if you are on a tight schedule. Point 2 may not be an issue with every model. At least I didn't notice any vibration or rattling when I test drove it last year. Or maybe I don't remember :D I'm planning on renting one for a few days or a week this year or next, so I'll keep that in mind. The third point is odd, didn't they use a waterproof speaker? There are definitely speakers that can play underwater :D If they really didn't, that's definitely a design flaw. I don't mind the edges of the tablet, I think it looks pretty good. At least it's not draped over the dashboard that looks like you made it yourself. My only problem is that it may be too bright, but the guy at Polestar Space told me how to activate the cleaning mode so the screen goes black. I can see pretty well in the dark, but too bright a light from the side, even a small one like from a USB Power supply for the cigarette lighter socket, already blinds me. And point 5 won't be an issue anyway because I'm looking for a P2 with Pilot and Plus package, I don't think the performance package is worth it. I don't need 21" wheels with gold brake calipers and seat belts :D Well, if the shock absorbers were remotely controllable from the inside, like on the Tesla Model S, then yes, absolutely. On the other hand, my BMW has the factory sport suspension, which is also pretty stiff, I didn't feel much difference when I drove the P2. @nightwaves I'm thinking about renting a Polestar 2 for a few days or a week to see if I'm comfortable enough sitting in it for more than an hour and driving longer distances.

This is about the only rear design of any car from Volvo or polstar that doesn't look disgusting. This one is youthful, all the other ones feel elderly styled. They make such beautiful front designs I don't know why the rear can't match usually.
