My dad told me two times he got pulled over. Once, he was pulled over at a DUI checkpoint, and my parents had just gotten out of a party. They had two slices of cake to give to my sister and I once they got home. Once the cop got to the window, my dad holds up the cake and goes, "Want some?" Another story was when my dad was younger, and got pulled over because he was warning cars of a speed trap. This is where a cop will hide on a generally quick road, and have a ball pulling people over for speeding. The cop saw my dad flashing his brights, and when he got pulled over, the cop asks "Who do you think you are?!" And without missing a beat, my dad responds "Paul Revere."

Where I live it’s considered unwise to flash your lights because people used to use it as a means of telling you either to turn down your brights or to turn on your lights, but at some point some gangs decided to do initiation by doing so, and the first person to blink back as a thank you gets shot. The police do not take kindly to this action anymore.

I mean, it’s probably a location thing. I’ve never heard of it as a police trap warning before, and I don’t know if the gang things happened elsewhere, so who knows. I will say that on my end, if I recall correctly, it’s not even something that happened anywhere near me that caused it, but something that happened a few hours away at the state’s capital city.

Anthony Arnold, If I'm not mistaken, MS-13 are the ones who came up with that as they do messed up shit like that; look for & find a man who has a job, wife & child and murder him - If you can't, you're not 'tough,' or should I say enough of a cold-psychopathic nut, enough to join. However, regardless of these isolated & IIRC old gang initiation incidents, flashing your lights to warn others of a speed trap is typically done in the day so it's not misconstrued as alerting others that their brights are on.

A few weeks back me and my parents had a day where we needed to go get some package from the mail centre (dumb postman didn't even try to actually took it to us, and because of a particular code on it, it was moved to the warehouse where they make extra controlls), followed by a dinner with friends. Coincidentally, the Police is searching for a car similar to the one we have (a Red KA), as we later discovered. It is now late aftenoon and we are going to take the last package, and we get pulled over by this couple of cops. They checked our info and sent us on our way; so we go take the package, and to avoid traffic, we take another road. Soon, we get flagged by the same officers. Hillarity ensues and we are sent on our merry way. After a couple ours, we move out toward our friend house, in a completelly other part of the city, and we decide to take the road from downtown. In fron of one of the many turist spots on the way, we get pulled in. By the same cops from before. At this point neither us nor them can keep a straight face and laugh to the ridicolousness of the situation, before goin our separate way. Near our friend house, we are meet with the scene of a brutal car crash. Apparently There was no blood, but 3 cars were totaled and at least 2 more were coinvolted. Because of that, after the enjoyable dinner, we decide to take the other way to go back home, undobtfully longer, but possibly faster than the other way. Halway through, during a stretch of the road between 2 (decaded) Noble mansions, a cruiser flag us and at the point where the road opens up enough to stop without blocking the traffic we stops. It could end here, as those where DIFFERENT cops, but no less than a minute later, the cruiser with the PREVIOUS cops stops near to us to see if their young colleagues needed any help before the end of their turn. It is mind boggling what kind of improbable rounds had those cops to make to have us being the first, Last and inbetween car to be stopped by them in a single day

My sisters and I got into an accidental car chase while leaving Wendy's once. It was dark and my sister had forgotten to turn on the headlights. A cop saw and turned on his lights behind us, for us to pull over, just to tell her to turn her headlights on. She only has her permit and still gets nervous driving I told her that she needed to pull over but she still didn't quite understand how to do that. She was pulling over to the right but she kept going on the curb so she also kept trying to readjust herself, therefore, we hadn't stopped the car even though I kept telling her to. We were on more of a main road that had other less busy side streets, the nearest one was a few hundred(ish) feet away. Since she wasn't stopping I told her to pull off into the side street and stop. She did and then the cop pulled diagonally in front of us, instead of behind us like police officers would normally do, so she couldn't continue to move forward. When the cop got to the car, after telling her what she did was stupid (which granted it was) he literally told us that if we were not young females he would have shot us. We are 15, 20, and 22 but we could all pass for teenagers at first glance. Us being young, naive, and a little sheltered to the world, also a little shaken; this was the first time any of us had been pulled over and we had just been told we could have been shot; just kind of laughed it off like "Oh lucky us." and "Thank goodness for that." and such. He then told us that Hondas are the most stolen car. We were driving a Honda Civic. He thought we had stolen the car and were trying to evade him, which as stated above was not true. He had even called for backup and there were two other cop cars blocking the entrance to the side street. Because my sister only has a permit the cop used that whole ordeal as a learning opportunity for her and let her off with a warning and his business card and all of us went on our merry way.

So he yells at him “put the gun down etc etc” the man says “I’ll put the gun down if you let me smoke this” then proceeds to pull out the biggest joint my chaplain has ever seen. My chaplain at this point says “light that doobie up” the man does and they have a conversation for an hour about how Wylie the coyote would catch the road runner in real life. Eventually the mans done smoking and hands the shotgun to my chaplain. It turns out it wasn’t even loaded. Sometimes people just need someone to listen. The original goes like this: Cop: Would you hand over your Private Pilot’s License, your Sports Car Club of America Racing License, and your Driver’s License please? Guy *scared out of his wits that he’s gonna lose all the licenses, shakily*: Here... here you go, sir. Cop: Woah. I’ve been doing this my entire career and you’re the first one to actually produce all three. I made a promise to myself that if I find someone who did, I’ll let them go with a warning. Have a good day.

4:25 As a Flagger, this happens all the time. People look at me like I'm supposed to know which way they're intending to go. Flaggers on each side of an emergency/construction zone hold their flags at stop until a car approaches, then if it's clear I flag them in. So it's not like you can just wait for the "slow" side.

The one with the woman and the rope goes to show that police also protect us from ourselves, even when we are completely sober. Then again, can grief even count as a state of sobriety?

It doesn't come down to being a cop, but just a person. I'm sure most of us would try to stop and talk someone out of suiciding

My mom once was going on a long drive to somewhere (I don't remember as this was a while ago) and she had loud music on. I don't know the full story, but a cop with his lights on came behind her sometime during her trip and she did not notice. He honked and tried signaling her many times for over an hour to no avail. Eventually, he used his flashlight and got it to shine in her mirrors, finally getting her attention. Mind you this was about an hour or two after he originally turned his sirens on. The funniest part was, after my mom explained to him what had happened, he just gave her a warning.

Background! My uncle is a police officer and my cousin ( his daughter) married a cop and they had the reception at my his house and we brought some furniture over there to accommodate the guest since there where alot of people there anyway a few days after while they where in Europe for there honey moon ( my uncle also went with them not like together together) me and a friend drove down to there in a pickup to get are stuff back and the people next door called the police on us thinking we where stealing stuff since they knew everyone that lived there is gone for a few weeks so we get about 3 blocks away when a cruiser pulls behind us and hits is with the lights and sirens so we pull over the are out of there car in an instant with there guns out telling us to get out with are hands up and lay down on the ground while one of them walks up to us and hand cuffs us literally 4 sec after we where both in cuffs the radiator on the cops car exploded and scared the shit out of all of us if they had still had there guns drawn on us they probably would have shot us

I once dated a State Trooper's daughter. He picked us up late one night in his patrol car after my truck broke down. As he was taking us back to his house a drunk driver blew a stop sign and sped off in front of us. He pulled the driver over and as he walked up to the guy's widow he said "Honest ass kisser. I'm not as think as you drunk i am." He was arrested for a felony DUI and got 2 years in jail, a $10,000 fine, and the state siezed and sold his car. He also lost his drivers liscence for 10 years.

Once I got pulled over at 5:30am going down this dual carriageway by an unmarked car, the copper was along side me with his partner just wagging his finger making a no gesture. I pulled up, they came over and said "do you know how fast you were going around that roundabout back there?" I replied "Well I'll admit i was pushing it a bit, see I'm late for work and I'll admit I was gunning it a bit." Cue me explaining to them how I start work at 4am and thus I'll be 2hrs late by the time I arrive (well even later now since I've been pulled over) They then asked when was my last alcoholic drink and I said "At midnight" so they proceed to breathalyse me BUT they didnt even have a breathalyser. Had to wait 30 mins for another cop car to turn up, got breathalysed, blew a blood alcohol limit of 27.5 (legal limit in England is 35) They ended up just letting me go, no ticket or warning. They said "We dont know if you have just started drinking but you seem quite wide awake and well alert, you could blow over in 5 mins time if we decide to pull you over again because we dont know when your last drink was but we'll let you go" So they pulled me over for speeding and totally forgot about it.

Got pulled over my first day of getting my license. 3 days after I turned 16 I went to the dmv, got my license and headed to school.(my first car was a manual suv. Never had so much fucking fun.) After school about 3 hours after I had gotten my license I headed home. By my high school there’s an elementary school so the speed limit was 25. I was going about 30. After the school zone I noticed a cop was behind me and didn’t think anything of it. After about 2 blocks he threw on his lights and I pulled over. Handed him my 3 hour old paper id and asked if I was speeding. He said no and said that someone must have stolen the time stamp off my license plate and he was just making sure it wasn’t stolen. He gave me his card and told me to call him if another cop pulled me over until I got a new time stamp. He told me when I got a new one to cut it up into sections so it’s harder to peel off, after that we both laughed that I had been driving by myself for less than a day. Hope that cop is doing well.

This isn’t that funny, but, my grandma had to feed one of her kids and she was driving, so she pulled over. A cop realized and thought she may have been having car issues. He walked up to the car (while she was still nursing her baby) and asked her “do you need any help?” Like , I don’t think she needed help nursing the baby but , nice try dude

@11:00 : when someone so badly wants to pitch in they put in a clearly flawed story. If you can fight a ticket in court, you won't get a percentage off... you either win or not based on wether there's any proof... which there wasnt for not even writing down a speed...

My biggest Citation when I was a State Trooper was $150,000. Plus, 24 Counts of 1st Degree Felonious Obstruction, 36 counts of Failing to Yield for an Emergency Vehicle and, 24 Counts of 1st Degree Felonious Reckless Driving. The dick actively blocked me from getting to a MVA involving vehicles on fire. I was the closest respondent Unit. Six victims died in the most seriously damaged vehicle, as a result, including three Minors under 3 Years Old. The Involuntary Manslaughter Charge was sadly dropped. I have worked for our State Bureau of Investigation Agency(State-level FBI, basically) for the last 13 Years. Mainly, as DCMI Special Agent. Child Homicide Investigations and other Serious Crimes against Minors. The Legal descriptor of a Minor is any Resident of the State from being a Newborn and up until their 18th Birthday.

3:11 story So recently moved back down this way(i-95 cuts through DE), and I caught a ticket because I didn't see the sign. 15 over the limit. I tell the cops, and he's cool. I tell him about i-95 and how I was basically forced into speeding. He tells me how Delaware has this thing, where a whole patrol of unmarked cars will drive behind cars and stop every single one of them and ticket them for speeding. Cool cop, shitty practices though
