Not only was this an extremely informative video, it was highly entertaining in that it showed the fishing experience of the common folk. Too early of a hook set, snagged lure, lost lure. It's nice to see something that looks like my typical outing.

Everything that happened here, happened to me yesterday...the getting stuck and walking around the lake and walking to car and re-rigging and then casting and tying a bad knot to see your jerkbait fly to Narnia. I think this is an awesome video. One I am a bank fisherman so this definitely helps a lot and two it shows how realistic fishing can be. Its not always catch after catch like a lot of videos are. Tyler, update since my last comment on your other video. So I went 3 weeks with no bites, ended up tossing lake fishing to the side and went pond fishing. Now I catch bass every other cast for the last couple days. Its like I'm being blessed by the fishing gods right now, and it makes up for the dry season. Quick tip, when using jerk baits to help avoid snags cut the leading hook point off the treble hooks or switch them out with a small straight shank worm hook with hook points faced away from line tie. If you can't catch it with 4 hooks, 6 hooks wouldn't change outcome. Your description of the jerk retrieval was spot on. Putting the emphasis on "pause" is key. Tight lines!
