Just beat the game. Holy MOLY was Pro Series TOUGH!! I was about to give up but finally I made it through and beat the final boss with my final attempt remaining. I freaking loved it! The whole thing! And the final boss? It was EXACTLY what I was hoping it would be one for one. So glad that's the direction you went!

Here is how you would do it: Once the player has finished customizing his character, and clicked the exit button or whatever, render the newly customized character into a texture and then display it as an icon on the screen.

Congratulations on publishing your game. It‘s a unique boxing game, as it doesn‘t play like anything I‘ve experienced before! It‘s challenging and a lot of fun. The next step would be to see how much you sell, you could be making millions since your self-publishing, and based on that first decide if you want to build a small team or if you want to go solo again for your next game (Working in teams comes with its own challenges. You need an emotional maturity for that. And need to know how to accommodate others suggestions but also be able to maintain some of your preferences and vision too).

Regarding the thumbnail pictures for your own character, not sure what engine you developed it. But in Unity there is something called RenderTexture, where you can render an image based on a camera projection. So you could even make it be animated rather than static.

I purchased your game, on the first day, & have a recommendation. It would be great to be able to beat one boss & save your progress instead of having to beat a whole entire championship for it to save. It would cause less frustration & the player would feel accomplished. Just because, if a player is struggling, on a boss, & finally beats it, & they have to leave the game…when they come back on, they have to start all over again. Thanks!

Looking great! Been fun to see this journey in bits and pieces as its built up over time! For the player's profile pic. Could have 1: A camera infront of the player's character that takes a picture when you press done. Could have the character play a little animation to get into a boxing pose before hand if you want. 2: Replicate the character off-screen and have a camera take a picture before you start a fight and store it in a texture that is read in once the fight starts. Can check to see if any changes were made to see if this needs doing. 3: Allow the player to use some set-poses in the character creator menu and take a picture of the one they like to "update" their profile picture. So they can do it manually with no need to try and secretly hide it. This way they can just choose what they like, fit the character in the potrait better if they can zoom the camera in / out and move up / down

For the player portarait of the user, before the user exits the character customization menu, have the system take a snapshot of the head area and replace the file of the current user thumbnail. Also, consider adding functionality for the player to pose their character here and go into a screenshot mode. Other feature recommendations might be a highlight reel available from the post match screen that allows the player to move around inside the clip and view it from different angles and such, as well as play at different speeds and pause the reel.

6:01 hey Ponty, I think what I would do to allow the cosmetics to change is I would try making a second character for the icon and set any cosmetics that would be visible to apply to that character as well. There’s probably more efficient solutions than that but it’s 4am and that’s the best I can think of

Regarding the player avatar, you could take the Mario & Luigi approach where you ask the player to snap a face photo after customisation is done so you can use it as the avatar pic.

Congrats! I've been watching this on and off and I am so happy to see it ready for launch! As for the issue you mentioned regarding the generic player icon: (bear in mind, I am not an unreal developer) I would look at trying to get a camera angle that you like with your player's 3D character decked out with whatever hats it has on and then do a render to a texture. If you wanna go crazy you can even consider having a camera pointed at your character's face while they're fighting and rendering that to a texture so then you get a real time 'feed' of their face while they get punched and what not. (You might need to write a shader or set some sort of camera mask to remove the background and only render the player character) Just my 2c. Not sure how easy it is to do it in Unreal, but could be fun. Congrats once again! Massive achievement!

Bought it and having a blast with it! Great job, the best compliment I can give you is this: the game is fun to play! Played with a friend on a big TV and this is definitely a great game to play with friends. Landing punches is defo extremely satisfying. Great jobs on all the little hit and reaction effects, great sound. I think you should keep working on it and expand. My wishlist: - No "silly" opponents at the beginning (a monk as a 3rd opponent?) I would like to boxe "real" boxers and the special opponent would be in a different league. - Polish the UI some more, I think the icons/fonts are a bit too big, some rework to make it slicker. - A real crowd! Change the sack of potatoes with a few different models, I know you are going for cartoon style but it would bring the whole thing to life a bit more. - It is still feeling a bit empty. How about the occasional drinks or tomatoe thrown by the crowd when the fighting gets boring? How about the fighers's coach in the corner, gesturing, etc? - I love the characters' overall design but their shoulders feel more like tumors. Maybe a slight redesign of the mesh? Overall a big congrats to you, I can see the love that went into this and you've managed to achieve what triple AAA developer sometimes miss: you created a FUN game!
