I don’t wanna be an English teacher but I feel like this dance symbolizes their relationship with each other; she hears the music and wants to explore it, then he comes along and they “dance together”. She seems to enjoy it for a while but there’s more to explore, and she goes on by herself and he progressively gets more aggressive and wants to control her movements until finally he has enough of her antics and wants her to just sit down and behave because he feels he’s losing control of her

Haha, I guess you got it. Because that's exactly what it IS. A contemporary take on a horror classic. And WHAT a horror it is! Instead of crumbling in the face of Duncan's masculine authority, Bella simply overlooks it entirely and goes on about her trial-and-error method of learning about society and the options it offers her on her own. Look at how she completely loses interest in his attempt at schooling her on how their affair should be going and wanders off to have a dance, which he then feels compelled to join in. He then tries to force her to follow his lead in the dance, but at every move, she spins it and ends up being the one controlling the dance. She's flipping the script, and no, no, NO, we can't have THAT, quelle HORREUR!

Kind of reminds me of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring . Brilliant scene and a master piece of a film 😊

I really hope they clean up at the oscars. I sometimes feel like I’ve fallen out of love with the movies but I actually realise it’s because of all the crap that gets made now adays due to the way in which we now consume media (i.e netflix and other streaming services). This film is fresh, weird and brilliant. I absolutely loved it.

I'm sure this was choreographed, but it totally looks improvised. I love how they were spent at the end. It was pure unabandoned freedom.
