The garden seems to be very slippery these days due to the unstoppable pouring. I have to be very cautious when walking around. Puddles are everywhere in the garden. The puddles took me back in time where I used to help my grandmother to make the floor using clay along with the cow dung. I just realized that how much I have grown up. The tiny little steps have grown into big five feet. HAHA! What can’t time do!!!! Best thing is that I have never stopped carrying my childhood habits.
I made a dish of tempered okra adding eggs and garlics. Along with that dish, I prepared a salad of boiled okra slices adding tomatoes, cucumber with a pinch of salt and lime to make it tastier. I arranged the lunch table with both dishes adding some boiled maniocs mixed with coconut, tempered carrot dry fish dish, Dhal dish and some curd chilies.
Next day, I prepared the Asmi mixture (A sweet) using okra sap (the sap of lady’s fingers). The mixture is taken from the hand and should be put into the boiling oil. It gets the perfect shape then. You can’t get them to taste at once. You have to give it some time to be tastier. After few days, the fried shaped Asmi should be fried again and add the sweeten melted sugar or jaggery. The juice made out of Asian pigeonwings (Butterfly Peas), pieces of okra along with passion fruit and yellow watermelon is a very healthy drink to go with in the morning! That’s a divine!
Some of the pumpkin plants are dying here and there. The different types of pumpkins on the plants itself added a pretty view to the garden. I made a tempered masala dish adding Carrot, Potatoes, Okra(lady’s fingers), pumpkin, bel pepper, purple cabbage, turkey berries, cauliflowers and beans along with the spices needed to make it yummier. It was a great match to go with roti made with pumpkins and decorated with sesame seeds.
