But its also their career now, so its either retire or let your ghost writers/producers make you millions. Of course, they can move on and do other stuff, but why? It's what I've been listening to during this quarantine because, like he said, it feels like science fiction when you can't go outside and party. Science fiction is what we need. It's what I need at least. Those awesome disco and electronica beats are keeping me in a good mood despite all this shit. Why would I want music that reminds me the world is in a depressive, anxious lull? Sorry for the rant, I just really like the album. I hope at least one of those songs makes the best list for 2020 ❤

I remember the first time I heard this song and thought it was like somebody on Drake's team was really trying to sabotage him this time. I mean seriously, Drake, who is infamous for dancing horribly, makes a song explicitly about dancing (where he COMPARES HIMSELF TO MICHAEL JACKSON) in which he talks about gang shit AND luxury porn AND feels, accompanied by a beat that COULDN'T BE FURTHER FROM CAPTURING DANCING, GANG SHIT, LUXURY PORN, OR FEELS. But...you're right. Within the context of a global pandemic where fun social activities that were happening just this year seem like a distant memory, and everything in our lives is now completely colored by crippling anxiety and soul-crushing loneliness - this is fucking perfect. Now I hate the song even more.

I can understand the appeal of the monotone song that gives off a low-key mood to chill to....I mean there’s been songs in the past that do that. But, regardless of age, can we all agree there’s a difference between monotone songs that establish a mood and those that just come across like you recorded the first shit you thought of right after a night of downing cough syrup? The Toosie Slide looks like someone stepping in dog shit, glancing at their shoe, and then trying to wipe their feet off in the grass. It's not a dance, it's an accident that ruins your day.

1:52 I see Mike Love continues to be blissfully unaware of how lame he's been for the last several decades.
