Just Google "black women hair controversy," it's amazing. So the song isn't just about shaking off haters, but specifically those who think they have the right to tell black women how to or not to wear their hair. I went to watch the video for old times sake, and it was as awful as I remembered, but Willow had another single from the same time that was equally annoying, except the repeated phrase was: "I'm the fireball of the party" instead. It was totally worth it, though, because Nicki Minaj spits a verse that's almost completely comprised of Street Fighter references: "I'm the Street Fighter/Call me Chun Lee", "Build a guest house to put the coup in/ cause I'm a fireball: Hadouken".
