@PornBrainRewireDrTrishLeigh Yes, it is a feeling, I think, of renewed hope. You see, I was one of those who had ADHD and some early trauma and when porn crossed my path at around 10 years old I had no defense. It was an instant hook. Due to various other reasons I gathered all sorts of addictions after that. All taking their tolls. Especially the thing I wanted most -- a good relationship with a girl that I was attracted to. My anxiety levels were way way too high for me to even start a relationship. I was able to break through my anxieties in short bursts so that I know the girls were willing. It was me that had the problem. After quitting all the other vices and addictions and after 50 years of the same ole same ole story, I have now only my first addiction to get rid of -- and you guessed what that is. I never developed a working ability to have a relationship. I hope that it is not too late and that God will smile upon me to finally be able to have that relationship that I have always wanted. Guys, time goes by very fast. Addictions of any kind waste life. Porn addictions are the worst for all the reasons that you suspect or not. It is artificial and unsatisfying and self respect eroding. When asked, "What's the biggest mistake we make in life?" The Buddha Replied, "The biggest mistake is you think you have time." Thank you Dr. Trish for your videos. This stuff has to come out of the shadows and have to light of day shown upon it.

I have been addicted to porn since i am 11 or 12 years old. I am 23 years old now going 24 this september. Porn ruined my teenage years. It affected my career to pursue which is being a seafarer. During my days onboard the ship i struggle to focus and my sleep is not healthy (insomnia). I only lasted 2 weeks onboard the ship and i decided to quit. It seems like porn is my way to feel better when i am being lonely, and hopeless ever since i quit my career. Then this past months i found out that this might be the problem why i experienced this kind of problems like having anxiety, insomnia, lack of motivation, lack of focus, and being socially awkward. But there is some time that i cannot fight the urge and suddenly i will watch again (relapse). But now i found one of Dr. Trish videos which i badly needed. And everything in that video describes me. So i began my commitment last July 6, 2023 to not watch porn again and will try my best to stick to this habit that will help me to become a better person and to find my potential and purpose in life.

Day four of this journey for me. I’ve been in the grip of this for 22 years and something just clicked all of a sudden a few days ago. I had consumed and I suddenly felt deep in my core that this is not the kind of life I want. The pain of knowing how controlled by this addiction I’ve been for decades transitioned into a deep conviction that it’s time for me to unlock myself and become the person I always was meant to be. It’s a difficult sensation to describe, but the conviction felt so new to me than the last times I attempted. I told my sister - who is also my best friend - the very next day. It was the first time I ever told ANYBODY about my private struggle. She was so accepting and understanding that I became overwhelmed with relief and gratitude for her. I plan to discuss the matter with my therapist at our next session. I am just at the beginning and the triggers and cravings are bad. I hope I can do this. I want to get past this so much I can taste it.

I must say if you have different hobbies from porn, it’ll help distract you and you won’t want it as much. I’m a week away tomorrow from it being a total of 90 days. I play video games on a regular basis and it actually does help distract you. Eventually if you’re fully committed to stop you will have a healthier way of thinking. I have noticed that I’m becoming more patient with myself and other people. And I have NEVER been this way. Hope this helps someone. Edit: I honestly think porn should be made illegal. Of any sort.

After 18 years of vicious porn addiction and 8 years out of 18 of an exausting battle to escape from the porn demons, I'm now 35 years old and glad to say that on 01/01/2022 I celebrated my 1 year porn free anniversary . Finding a new habit is truly the key the answer the solution to escaping porn, I turned to juggling and in 1 year time I went from juggling 2 balls to juggling 5 balls like a pro juggler and currently learning 6 balls. I've always heard people talk about channeling sexual energy into something productive and I used to think what the hell they're talking about, but truly juggling has shown me what they were talking about. I still get little sexual glitches in my mind from time to time but those glitches have become much more easier to get rid of. I truly think porn addiction is worst then meth addiction and you've been trapped by the porn demons you must not give up the battle against such ruthless demons.

They really should show this in all the high schools. I heard another doctor claim addiction rates was high as 65% now so this is a tragedy for young men.
