Collecting my new 992 GTS Coupe on Thursday - moving up from 992 Coupe S that I’ve had for 2.5 years. The S was fantastic. This time I’ve not held back on the options. Changed from Agate to Artic Grey that I think pops a little more. Thanks for the video summary

Great car, looked at the GTS but the 992 are dipping at the moment. I sold my 992 coupe S a couple of months ago and went for a Macan GTS and the car is fantastic don’t miss the 992.

How funny. I just sold my 22' Macan GTS for a 24' 992 base and don't miss the Macan one bit. @@peterbuchan898

Not sure I follow the logic of leaving the 992 due to depreciation and picking up a Macan (which will do the same) - love the Macan - great all rounder

I bought a 992 GTS cab in July, 2023. It's a MAGICAL machine. I drove 1000 miles the first week, tracked it the third week, and spent, what was slated to be a single afternoon, 8 days (!) at Tail of the Dragon, on the North Carolina/Tennessee border in the US. I've driven it HARD for over 10,000 non-commuting miles in 9 months. It's truly a dream.

I just picked up my GTS cab in 2 wheel drive, after having the C2S cab for a year i can honestly say that nothing is a massive improvemet on the GTS over the C2S but everything is at least 10% better which adds up to a bigger smile. Also the best 2 wheel drive convertable Porshe make it the GTS and after driving a few 4 wheel drive 911 992s I will stick with the 2 wheel drive as its far more rewarding. Apparantly the next gen 992 will be some sort of hybrid (what an awful shame)

Gts is a trim package. The minimal HP gain will go unnoticed. The bigger brakes r a waste as the standard ones are more than up to the job. Save the money and add the options u want and not the ones crammed into the package.

Thanks for the view and thoughts chap

Wheather it’s a waste really depends on how the car is driven.

Hello from Boston, USA. I priced a Porsche 911 GTS Coupe which would cost $160k U$A. Sorry but I am a Corvette guy. Respect to all Porsche loyalist. A Corvette Coupe similarly equipped cost $82k U$A. With a limited and stretched budget, I like the new Corvette better. Just a matter of opinion. I do like the GTS because you said it was more of a GT car rather than a track car. I like GT cars. Now you can fry me when rough comments. $82k = $64,650.98 GBP $160k = $126,148.25 GBP

No frying necessary my friend from across the pond. Corvette certainly seems like great value in comparison - thank you for sharing

GTS not as stiff as the S? I've watched dozens of youtube videos on this topic, as I am in the market for a new 911, and you are the only person who has said that, everyone else has it the other way around. 🤔
@CarMadDad9 ай бұрын
I was surprised as well chap Suspension to me seemed more compliant - rode bumps better and didn’t feel as much of the road - maybe it’s the helper prongs in the front? Or that it was a convertible instead of a coupe?!? Or I’m a simpleton and wrong 😑
@TuvingtonD8 ай бұрын
@@CarMadDadThe GTS has the same spring rates as the Turbo S. It's much stiffer than the S spring rates. The car you tested might have had a -10mm SPASM delete option and/or very low tire pressures. FYI, I've been tinkering with tire pressures on my 4GTS. 33/38, uncheck Comfort, uncheck Full Load seems to give the best ride/handling.

I've owned my GTS Cab for than an year now. The reviewer is correct more refined ride than an S, the suspension components from Turbo S make all the difference. When you push the GTS hard it comes alive and you will observe the difference between S.

A good GT but too fast to exploit on UK roads. After owning five 911’s, including a Turbo S, I now have a Boxster 4.0 GTS - looks better than a 911 cab given it was designed to be a roadster, N/A, sublime handling, sound, weight and size. Porsche best sports car…a GT it ain’t.
@CarMadDad9 ай бұрын
Like you say - very good car but too fast for UK roads - likely why this one is destined for European road trips. Love that 4.0l in any car - sublime
@mgugushe63797 ай бұрын
I think this is a decent review, however, it would be great to hear more from the car itself. The GTS has amazing notes, which respectfully, are very muted in this video, especially when considering the cabriolet derivative being driven.

Odd the springs are stiffer than S , maybe normal suspension mode is extra soft . GTS seems like a package alcantara blacked out model . The lightest coupe RWD form and lightweight package , then we’re talking. Otherwise it’s just a S with bigger brakes. Not a midpoint to a GT product.
