Candi I have been struggling with sleep for almost a year now since having covid. it's gotten so bad that my tolerance to every over the counter medicine is too high to work anymore. There is nothing worse than not being able to sleep. And I HATE relying on medicine. It makes me ENVY people who are just able to go to sleep with no struggle, i can't remember the last time i was able to fall asleep as easily as a normal person. Hope you get some relief. it's comforting to know i'm not alone, because i don't know anyone else who struggles with this too

I’m a psych major studying adult development. I’ve been learning about the season of life that you’re in. Life after kids leave home, and struggling to see your purpose. All I wanted to say was congratulations because a lot of people in your position just give up. The fact that you are struggling but in the midst of the struggle you are trying to progress & find purpose says so much about you. Keep going candi! You will see the light at the end of the tunnel!♥️

Oh Candi, I seriously feel like we are the same person. I’ve commented before about empty nest syndrome and how real it is. I’m just one year younger then you and all my babies have moved out. They are 28, 25 and 20. Thank goodness I do have 2 beautiful, amazing, spunky grandsons that keep me busy. They are 4 and 6 and I would spend every day with them if mom and dad allowed it lol. But all jokes aside, this is a very difficult time in my life because my purpose feels different. Since the age of 20, I’ve been a mom. It’s what I’m most proud of. It’s what I do best. It’s what I love beyond words. it’s what I know. I know we raise them to spread their wings and fly, which I have and I’m so proud of all 3 of them. Now I’m just left searching for new purpose for myself. I know I will find it sooner or later and I’m being patient with myself, I just really miss being needed. Empty nest syndrome is very real.

Where do you live Kelly? Let's hang out :) LOL. All jokes aside it does seem like we are going through the same thing however I don't have grandkids yet. I know that time will come and hopefully I live close by. i feel the exact way though - being a mom is what I feel most proud of as well. that is why it is so hard for me to even take my job and try to change to be like other non - kid moms and just do content without my kids. It's what I know, it's what I feel content with. Ugh! The struggle. We will both figure this out though. It just takes time and making OURSELVES A PRIORITY!!!

I’m in Kansas, Shawnee Kansas to be exact. If you and Ken are ever out this way we have plenty of space for the two of you lol. Honestly we have a lot in common so we would probably be besties if we lived by one another. I love Shane and Ryland (they put out a new video today and now I want a Alpaca 😂) Ben Affleck was my celebrity crush too until he reunited with JLo. Not like I had a chance but a girl can still dream. And everyone thinks my 3 children are spoiled (which I don’t give a flying bleep what anyone thinks) and I’m sure we have tons more in common as well. But seriously, this is a tough stage of life for me so I completely understand everything you are going through. Me and my husband have been together for 30 years (most days it feels like 90 years 😳) but he sees this as a new chapter for him and i to do whatever we want together, which is great and all, I just want all my kiddos and grandsons to come along. That’s when I feel complete, when we are all together. Goodness I’m a mess and absolutely no help for you whatsoever, but just know you are not alone in feeling this way. And please don’t quit KZbin ever. So many of us really look forward to your videos. You have a lot of wisdom and you have great positive energy. That is very much appreciated.

Ken and I want to do some little road trips to check out some new places and just get out of the house more and explore...since traveling by airplane seems like such a hot mess here lately. we sure do have a lot in common! I will say Ben Affleck sure looks happy right now. I has been with some beautiful women in his lifetime. let's keep in touch. are you on instagram? I seem to DM some other ladies through there more often then here because I only check comments on recent vids.

Hi. I noticed this video is almost 2 years old now. I got covid in May 2022 and now it's almost September 2022. I have been dealing with depression anxiety and insomnia ever since. It seems like I have some good days even weeks but then something seems to happen and I get thrown back into the almost sleepless nights depression and anxiety. Right now it seems like the depression is almost gone but the anxiety is rocking my world. I used to be a very confident guy and would not back out of much but now I have trouble working up the courage to just step out of my house. I wanted to see if you had an update and ask how you are doing now? Almost everyone I talk to say that it's gonna just take time. I hope you are doing much better and maybe get some hope from someone that has gone through something that I am currently going through.

Hey brother, I'm sorry to hear about how you felt. I got covid for the first time in October and a week after testing negative I was getting panic attacks and almost crippling anxiety. I'd have good days, sometimes even good weeks but then it turned into depression. Like you said people around me say this will take time and I do see improvements but I'm not 100% myself. Can I ask l, how do you feel now?
@MotorheadATX
@MotorheadATX Жыл бұрын
@@Ken_Nicole I'm sorry you're going through this as well. I am feeling much better now. I sleep well and my depression is no longer an issue. I still have anxiety but it's not debilitating like it was and I haven't had a panick attack since early October. I now have motivation to do things again, I am working on my cars again, I have taken a few trips and even gone to a couple of concerts. It wasn't easy and it's still not easy, I am more aware of all this and it's probably gonna be around for a while. Before covid I felt more "carefree" where I would never think of anxiety and depression or health issues, but now it's present all the time. I have faith that it will continue to get better and better since I am still actively doing things to better myself and my mental health. Hang in there, it WILL get better. My motto became just push through. No matter how tired I was or how anxious and depressed I was I forced myself to do what I had to do and for me that was the key because I proved to myself that I can STILL do anything that I set my mind to and slowly but surely it has gotten better. I hope this reply helps you out at least a bit. But please be assured that it will get better.

@MotorheadATX
@MotorheadATX Жыл бұрын
@@ghassenbohli4056 I had some anxiety back in 2015 but it was nothing like I went through after covid. I had recently moved to Austin from a small city and went from working outdoors to an office job, constantly in meetings and it was a huge change for me and I would get panick attacks on my way home when I was stuck in traffic, but as soon as I would get home it would go away. My home was my safe zone. This lasted like 5 or 6 months and went away on its own with not much effort. Never suffered from insomnia and no depression at all whatsoever. I feel like I had a good outlook on life and generally more positive. I think that's why I struggled so much when this hit me so hard because I was fighting it with all I had. It wasn't until I accepted it and let it take its course that I started feeling a bit better. I got covid in May of last year and the anxiety and depression were pretty bad until around early to mid October. I didn't feel like myself again until around 2 weeks ago, like a week before New Years, I still feel anxious at times but about normal everyday stresses and stuff. Something that I hadn't mentioned before is that I also developed tinnitus or ringing in the ears and that messed me up alot. That started early August and I still have a little left of that but not enough anymore to the point of it bothering me.

Thanks for sharing and being open and transparent with what you are going through. I’m sure it helps others. It is best to cut back and probably get off the ambien when you can. I also don’t feel you need a sleep study, especially if you aren’t having any issues there (I worked in the sleep lab at flower). A lot of times doctors throw stuff out there because they really don’t know (and they’re not the ones paying). But I would be honest with your primary care and tell them you’re not going to go that route. I feel like you’re in limbo right now and like you said, new things are on the horizon in the years to come. Maybe check in to a new business or some hobbies you are interested in. Or volunteer work, which can be very fulfilling. I think one of the local hospitals had a volunteer program to hold and rock infants. Or there’s Ronald McDonald house. Lots of different things to consider. Sending you big hugs 🤗

I don’t get anxiety but since getting Covid I have enormous difficulties with initiating sleep to the point where I will be in bed awake from 10pm to 4am daily. I say that I am not anxious but dealing with this post covid insomnia has made my stressed about not falling asleep. It even got to the point where I took 3 different types of sleeping tablets and still didn’t fall asleep until 3am. So I disagree that this is a mental health issue. Something physiological happened since your Covid infection. Something got switched off in the process. There are highly complex processes that is involved in initiating sleep and maintaining sleep, which goes well beyond the melatonin hormone. Too many people after Covid had their sleep cycle disrupted to be a coincidence and I highly doubt it is all due to anxiety. One current theory is that Covid infection increases certain types of anti inflammatory markers called cytokines and these remain constantly elevated months after the covid infection. This could possibly explain why some people are affected by long Covid! The odd peculiarity is that nobody is affected in the same way - I don’t get shortness of Breath, extreme fatigue, palpitations but my ability to fall asleep is badly impaired for some reason.

@@cootsunihatesyou it’s a public comment. Your comment was rude. This is a hard thing to talk about. And comments from ignorant people don’t help.

Why are you watching then, Candi is trying to open up about her struggles and people like you make that difficult. Please don't comment unnecessary things, put yourself in her position and think about what you say before you comment. It's unnecessary and rude.

Vicky, I feel sorry for you. Usually people who feel the need to comment like you did are unhappy with themselves. I hope you can get help with whatever it is that is troubling you. Hope you have a blessed day.

Do something that you don't normally do, like vacation somewhere. I went to nm for a week, after suffering two months it went away. I tried not to focus on it, like if I don't sleep whatever. I'm cured, it was horrible.
