I would love to hear something about your mindset when you sketch, like how you are using your surroundings and translate that into what you paint.

I have learnt so much from watching you tear up and reconstruct your sketches, you have brought so much inspiration to my own arts practice, thanks for sharing Lewis!

I live in the AZ desert in the USA and no matter how far out into my back yard I go (which is about 600 acres of open desert) I find trash. It is beyond me too. Pristine beauty and they can't be bothered to take their trash out??? I feel ya! The place you are visiting here is so beautiful.
@LewisNobleArtist4 жыл бұрын
Infuriating isn’t it?!
@leetravathan4 жыл бұрын
@@LewisNobleArtist Indeed. I've learned to take a trash bag out with me now. I even see old mattresses and chairs out there in the strangest places, but the city won't go out there and do anything about it. So they just break down into little bits that the wind carries all over the place. It is definitely something that saddens one that loves the beauty of the earth. The older I get, the more I respect it.

Really enjoyed watching your demonstration! It's encouraging to see you work with your controlled, yet reckless approach to painting. Keep going!

I used to paint like this. Ended up with undiagnosed Lyme. Mentioning it so wear bug spray and check for ticks.

Hope you picked up the rubbish before you left rather than leaving it there...? If those of us who feel strongly about such abuse to the country side just comment, rather than take action, are we not just as bad as those who leave it in the first place? Great video as always thank you so much for sharing! 🙏
@LewisNobleArtist Жыл бұрын
Of course but I'm not sure not doing so makes you 'as bad'.

I can't find the video that you mentioned here that shows the contents of your painting kit. What is the name of the video or can you link it here? I'm amazed and inspired by your work practices. Thank you.

As I watch you paint, I am wondering if your marks are generated by what you are actually seeing with your eyes or are they being generated from your own intuition? If you say both, can you explain how that works? In short, what are you thinking about as you are painting?
@LewisNobleArtist3 жыл бұрын
Difficult to answer but definitely what I see. But painting in the landscape is much more than just using your eyes. The sketches are more about the whole experience of being outside.
@rozaganser30162 жыл бұрын
I prefer paynes grey to black. It gives a richer colour.

Hi I love seeing you paint but can I ask "when you are painting outside are you painting what you see or what you feel".
@LewisNobleArtist4 жыл бұрын
Just reacting to what I see.

Wish I knew what you are thinking whilst you paint. It is as if you just abandon yourself to some other mindset?
