What I like about you, aside from being beautiful and having awesome hair, is that you're real. You present options, that most of us have, so we have some idea of what to do, when things go south. "Sometimes she goes, and sometimes, she don't go..." like I said, real!
@ilananl10045 жыл бұрын
Hahaha "sometimes she goes and sometimes she don't go"... love your expressions, you are so you 👍 And for greasy scalp but still otherwise good hair: dry shampoo! Most people don't know but dry shampoo is actually a styling product, not so much a shampoo... it helps with volume at the roots just like your hair gets better each day after washing. Or if your hair doesn't get better yet and you haven't been able to balance your hair to last longer between wash days: dry shampoo as a styler will (even when you massage your scalp with oils in between wash days)! And thus also great for sweaty scalp workouts refreshers. I'm also joining you in a get back to workout and feeling more healthy routine...
@stevieray72035 жыл бұрын
ok your "getting back into it" is my advanced workout!! slayed it girl! For greasy roots when you don't have time to wash hair, add a mousse that you fnd drying to your root. Pantene Mousse works for me and has a scent so that "dirty hair smell" is covered

Sooooo much the reason why i want to quit the cgm....training!! The root(haha) of my problem. NOT gonna stop training. But i put hats...like winter cap( running, skating), swimming cap( 3 times a week) ans summer cap ( running, tennis). The only issue for me after training since i have about one minute to go back to work, i clip back my hair. That is the only option for me not to quit the cgm. THANK YOU SUZIE, LUV YOUR VIDEOS.

I'm brand new here. I found you yesterday after joining the Curly Girl group on Facebook. I was born in Cape Breton and it's wonderful to hear your down home accent. I was born in Glace Bay at the General Hospital which burnt down long ago. I've lived in Ontario for 39 years. My family moved here when I was 10. I wish I could get home more often but life is always busy of course. I'm really happy I found your channel, I did my first cgm tonight. It's time I embraced my curls. (Wow! I wrote you a book. Sorry!) 😊

OMG, I have been trying to find a good solution for how to handle my hair after a sweaty run or workout. I will try conditioning the bottom and washing the roots as described.

I bought that hair dryer on Amazon last fall. I really like it too. I believe my diffuser is smaller than yours though. Works for me since my hair is shorter. Thanks for sharing this refresh. I enjoy watching your videos. I am more of a wavy but do gets some nice curls on a good hair day. I also have sensitive skin and am very limited with the products my skin will tolerate. Honestly I’m not really sure which products work best for my curls. Right now I am limited to some Shea moisture products and the Maui moisture products. There is also an aloe shampoo and conditioner that my skin tolerates. My hair is fine and not very absorbent. I started my curly girl journey about a year ago. And have been following you for many months now. I’m very happy for you and all the exciting new things happening in your life.

I'm so jealous of your beautiful THICK hair. I used to have thicker hair, but over the past few years it's really thinned out. I can't air dry my hair if I plan on going anywhere because it looks like I'm partially bald when the curls clump together along my scalp. Any suggestions on what I can use or do to make my hair thicker?
@courtneym55235 жыл бұрын
The only thing i can think of is maybe once its mostly dry, separating the curls and shaking/ fluffing at the roots. But that's probably something you already do. For some reason I find that when my hair is about half dry, if I put it up in a bun for literally a few seconds and theb take it out, my hair looks more defined, it dries quicker, and it looks more full. Good luck!

I’m gray and have lost a lot of bulk. If I try to do this I end up with stringy hair with a wicked cast. When I try to scrunch it out I’m a fuzz ball. Same fuzz ball for ANY mousse any time. I think it’s due to having low porosity hair :(

Thanks Susie, is this the same advice you’d give after swimming? I wonder about pool chemicals.
@beautywearsboots64585 жыл бұрын
Ugh I feel for you! I took swimming as an elective in college. I would advise that you wet your hair with tap water before you swim as your hair will absorb less chemicals if it's already wet. Then, since your hair is wet, give it a good rinse when you get out, and refresh with product as per your usual routine. You'll still have some chemicals in your hair and they're definitely drying, so still get a wash day ASAP

Hey Susie, I love your videos! I work out every day and I want to know, how you style your hair while you are working out - I often make a bun, but after the workout, my hair looks very tousled... So i sweat a lot in my workouts/run, but i dont tend to get greasy hair normally (can go 5/6 days without needing to wash it). But when im wokring out 4/5 times a week i struggle to know how often to wash it, as i dont want to constantly be stripping my hair, but also it needs some TLC after a workout. Any tips would be great xx

You’re going to have to do the other option then. My head doesn’t really sweat. Just remember, sweat is water soluble, so try washing with just conditioner & if that doesn’t work. Do the conditioner on your length trick.
@UtahRoadbase5 жыл бұрын
Mine too! I usually just use my apple cider vinegar and scrub that in like shampoo. Between the the water, the scrubbing, and the vinegar's acidity, it seems to do the trick. You have to remember your microfiber towel, but really, I don't find refreshing to be *that* much of a time saver except for the drying time. I don't care about that, though, because my hair has always taken eons to dry whether it's short or long. Also, somewhere I read that a rice water rinse is acidic too so maybe that could be used. I haven't done a pH test on that, though, so don't take my word for it.
