I had a 700 super magna and a 750 magna then the 1100 magna and finally settled with the 06 1100 shadow spirit and still ride it to this day with over 50,000 miles on it and running like new still no major issues so far just fuel pump and voltage regulator and stator.

@@mcycleshawn comfortable extremely reliable low maintenance and it's simple not to mention the performance is very good. A motorcycle mechanic said it's one of the best motorcycles ever built so I bought one and so far it's been great 👍

The timer (from what I heard) is made to track engine running time before the next oil change. Some manufacturers care more about engine time than mileage on bikes

Just my Nighthawk 85 650 running again. Idles ok with choke fully off. Just went around the but seem hot, even top of my cam covers seem hot. Any clue what to check for over heating?

I just bought a 1982 example. Also black. Has stock exhaust like yours. I'm having a problem with it bogging out whenever I try to accelerate. Any idea what I might adjust to correct that?
@mcycleshawn3 ай бұрын
@@bobadams179 usually points to main jets in the carbs being clogged. Get in there and clean the carbs all up. Also could be an air leak leaking out your air to fuel mixture. Could be a minor adjustment but most times a good carb clean would do the trick. That’s a great time to check everything as you set her back up!

How would the Fan Switch work? Would you leave the fan running at all time while the bike is on? I’m picking the same bike this week and previous owner has the wired to a toggle

I don’t have to turn it on very often. If I’m moving it stays cool enough. I watch temp gauge when stopped and turn it on if needed. Definitely don’t start it and walk away and forget it. I did that one time and rushed back when it started to overheat.

Are the specs between the 82 and 83 pretty similar? I noticed the 82’s speedometer only goes up to 85mph but I’m curious what the actual top speed is not that I’ll get up to that speed but awesome videos man
@mcycleshawn Жыл бұрын
It’s very hard to find reliable specs for these classics! It can be even more difficult to compare years of the same models. I believe the 82-83 are very similar. Top speed should be right about the same. My bet is the 85 speedo was for government regulation and it can do more
