My bf is a native N Carolinian and I’m a (somewhere in the ballpark of 10-12th generation) Georgian. I 100% agree she’s gotta be from the south and I think it’s most likely NC too. There was something she said a specific way in a previous video (which now escapes me), but as soon as I heard it, I thought “yep! NC just like my mans!” Haha. So many subtle differences across the southern states, but they’re there If you know where to look!

i pondered this myself and i think a lot of it is that even the characters who are the little tyrants are "mostly harmless"-they don't have much real power to irritate you with their gatekeeping for more than few minutes of interaction and then you are on your way again, so you just accept this interaction in your life for what it is and proceed to observe this person anthropologically, as they operate in their environment, vigilantly defending their anthill from all assaults perceived and real there's also the weird thing that sometimes the asmr effect can triggered by people with annoying personalities or affectations (often because it's in the formalized context of an occupation), and she clearly understands this with great subtlety, blending it with comedy where subverted expectations and plot twists are supposed to do anything *but* relax you *and* it still hits on every mark? i think she's in the process of creating something unique here.

Years ago I worked at a comic shop and an older woman approached me and we had a nice conversation. She then said she had an exciting opportunity she wanted to share with me since I seemed like such bright young man. A week later I’m sitting in a Starbucks with this woman and her husband as they pitch Qualstar to me. I had never run into multilevel marketing before so I sat through the whole thing. They both had such a genuine and gentle nature that my ASMR was on full blast. (Reason 2 that I stayed to listen.) Afterwards I did my research and discovered the scam it was. I felt bad because I could tell they really believed in the idea and needed me to believe it too.
