POV Bus Drive: 2013 Gillig Advantage (Cummins ISL)

Today, we drive a University of Maryland 2013 Gillig Low-Floor unit 9813 around the campus. Apologies for the extremely over-exposed video - I accidentally touched the GoPro screen with my forehead while I recorded and it decided to adjust to the inside of the vehicle and not the outside!

Excellent video. Would be a great way to train new bus drivers. Simulators for bus-driver training are being used by some companies. Which is weird.

Have you ever got confused on how many times you turned the wheel on gilligs since the design of the wheel is different compared to mci steering wheels and others ?

Love the local service video! The quiet diesel engine and the Voith combo seem great for campus/neighborhood/city service! Do you find it eats a bit more fuel on the highway?

We have 4 30ft Gilligs we acquired in 2013 lol, they're from 2001 I think. We also have 4 other 2001 30 fts acquired in 2015, but theyre in much better shape, but they have the push to open doors in the back that no one seems to understand how to use. I think pretty much all of the Gilligs we use are coincidently from 2001.

These buses are absolutely differwnt from the Hungarian one's. But I like them! Of course, my favorite buses are the Hungarian Ikarus 200 series.:)

The voith transmission in the Gilligs sound way much better than school buses. Why can’t it be like that in modern school buses?
