Driven the Hilux, Xenon, D-Max, Camper and Yodha Double Cab too. One - there's not much Hilux did in this video here. PD made a KGF here. The Hilux remains to be overhyped and overpriced. Period. Said my bit.

Hilux's main appeal is the reliability. Sure, the smaller Indian Domestic Market pickups are reliable too, but none of them has this much pedigree under the belt. Also the powertrain, its more expensive, compared to most, even all of the mentioned vehicles. Paired with the 4WD and bigger size, the only nearest competition is the D-Max. In India, these aren't abused enough, compared to Australian outback, and let's just ignore Africa here as most of those Hiluxes are quite old, they've lesser electronics and plastic parts that may go wrong. Still it is very much overpriced, but overhyped it isn't.
