I still have a tear in the meniscus in my right knee after two orthoscopic surgeries. The doctor said if he took out anymore I'd need a knee replacement that was 2008. Do you have any videos to show what to do to strengthen your legs when you have a torn meniscus appreciate your help

I've worked with a lot of older clients in the past. I also tried to help my mom as she was dying inch by inch with dementia. And one day I will die, so I hope to do so with open eyes and as strong a body as possible.

3-4 years ago started to STAND ONLY taking shoes & socks off - now am an expert at one leg standing, squatting, wobbling and recovery! Slow but sure like the tortoise! However, your ankle/foot strength exercises have made me even more stable, thank you!

Thanks! This instruction is so important to help us 'stay vertical.' I'm finding these days (65+) that it doesn't take much to throw me off and set me back. So I'll try to work on strength and balance more. As the old commercial used to say, "Thanks-- i needed that!" 👏👍

My mom is 65 and you can’t tell because of how active she is. It’s never too late to get a new skill and improve yourself. People are living longer. 65 is the new 40 :)

This is perfect! I've been noticing that I wobble/teeter a little bit when stepping out of the shower. Or, especially when drying off the bottoms of my feet one at a time. I watched your hip strengthening video earlier this week. So I'm getting serious about strengthening my lower half at home before joining to a gym and lifting gym weights with a trainer. THANKS👍🙂

I recently discovered that calluses had developed upon my feet without me noticing, and those calluses impeded my ability to perform balance exercises. I recommend looking at your feet frequently and taking care of them.

My current favorite balance exercise is standing on one leg with the other ankle crossed on the standing thigh in a figure four stretch, and then I bend the sanding leg like chair pose. Seems like a nice multi purpose exercise, strengthens the standing leg, works balance and is a nice stretch.

For both balance and strength, try standing on one foot using a yoga block and staying as long as you can. Pressing thru the foot, lifting up tall thru the leg/torso.

Thank you so much for your great explanations and easy to do exercises. I have been walking 3 or 4 miles a day, but I have such sore hips when I stand up after sitting, and now I understand that walking alone won't strengthen my leg muscles or hip muscles. I expect that doing these leg and core exercises (along with your hip exercises) will help me get over this soreness so I don't hobble after sitting. Thank you!!!

I think I might be able to do some of that! My right leg is paralysed (polio) so I can’t do a lot of the leg strengthening exercises. As for balance, because my right leg is paralysed and shorter than my left leg, my balance organs packed up to save me from sea sickness! (My sons never wanted me to carry when they were little because of the seasickness effect)

Please can you share a video about exercises to increase leg strength and buttom strength when someone has painful hip osteoarthritis?
@AlexProudfoot1 Жыл бұрын
Rather than pressing down on something to help you balance, have a go at a slight lift eg door handle, hand under the back of a chair, or hand under a table. This lift action connects the muscles of the arms to your back and encourages you to use your leg muscles appropriately.
