There are definitely a lot of lifters that are successful with varying degrees of forward lean in the torso. From a professional and competitive standpoint this has its own sets of pros and cons for performance and health and longevity. As for teaching the broad spectrum of movers that we see in our community of learners, the more vertical and stacked posture has allowed for the best results and safest movement patterns. At the end of the day, the individual needs to take into account what their goals are and what works best for those goals. Thanks for the comment!
