Whats the capacity of the average intercooler plus the piping to go from the turbo to that and back to the intake, i think it pans out pretty evenly on volume to full and thus lag, just this setup doesnt cool the air quite as well, maybe if you added fins to the charge pipe and wrapped the exhaust pipe it runs right next to its help slightly but i mean 368hp is probably all that auto trans wants anyway

I'm a medically retired Master Auto Tec. The number of custom and street ripping cars have come and gone. But it was allways fun to chat with the customers/new friends, after the first week or so of driving the car. From clapped out Celebrities to $450.000 Convertible GT500KR's. One thing, a dream if you may, has been to take a big ol American family sedan and make a well balanced sleeper. Crown Vic's are the perfect platform in my eyes. The 4.6 is versatile, transmissions are stronger, more efficient and can be modified to great extent. Old school "LUXO BARGE" and modern tech? DUDE!!! COME ON!!! Bro high fives to all of this! LOL..... I can see a twin turbo set-up working well, with sacrificing the rear passanger area and trunk. Who needs rear seats? Heh! Snorkle set-up for the intake, thru the body and into the trunk space. Mainly for the reduction of external intake turbo whine, rain protection as well. Trunk floor modified for an exhaust that only produces a "woosh" out of the tail pipes. A seperate oiling system for the turbos. Dynamat everywhere, custom rear faux seating, carpet and fabric. The most subtle Grandpa paint job, modified steel wheels for more rubber out back and stock wheel covers. AHHHHH....what a dream. To hear a friend ask "what the hell do you need a roll cage for?" Now I wish I had the 75-100k to do it!

Excellent work!!! No use though if it can't be driven in bad weather. That's what the police interceptor is all about. My dad was a postal inspector and has had them since 1948. I have been driving them since 1970. Ford designed them tested them and used them. Any and I mean any mods only hinder it's intended usage. Including the restrictive exhaust system designed to keep heat in the engine because of steam holes. Two turbos closer to the engine block with no mufflers work more efficient!!! It's been proven!!!!

I see you didn't change out the intake manifold. When mine failed on my 2007 P71, I replaced it with a Dorman with a higher flow rate. It gave me a noticeable increase in hp. Beings you have done so much to this P71, and beings you had her torn down most of the way anyway, I wonder; Why didn't you also upgrade the intake manifold?
@maxdm1583
@maxdm1583 Жыл бұрын
I very much doubt you gained any HP by replacing intake manifold with higher flow rate without fuel air remap. In fact you likely lost HP as you've increased volume of air and decreased pressure thus decreasing flow rate.
@captaincobb8146
@captaincobb8146 Жыл бұрын
@@maxdm1583 I don't give a rats-ass what you believe. I drove that car for three years before the intake broke, leaking coolant like crazy, and I had to replace it.
