At 65 years old I decided to quit smoking cigarettes after being a heavy smoker for 54 years. I also decided I needed to lose 160 pounds… which required me to quit drinking alcohol, after being an alcoholic for 30 years. I had extremely high blood pressure and cholesterol levels plus I had type 2 diabetes. I went on the keto diet and did intermittent fasting and in 2 years I had gone from 350 pounds down to 190 pounds. My blood pressure and cholesterol levels went back to normal and my type ll diabetes disappeared. I’ve maintained my weight loss for 4 years and have continued eating ketogenic foods and I only drink black coffee and water… nothing else. I never actually mentally went on a diet… I simply changed my relationship with food and changed what and when I eat. Food is now only a nutritional tool I consume to fuel my body. I NEVER snack and I eat 1 or 2 meals a day when I’m hungry. My new normal is to be lightly hungry about half of my waking moments and I’m ok with that.

Today am updating my progress: 5/ 18 /23 my note: I am 180 pounds! bmi 26, and daily average BS is 117. FBS is still greater than 115 by a little most days but I will take that. Doing 2 meals most days 18/6 window, then 24 hr fasts on Saturday or Sunday. Get my labs drawn in 10 days. Keeping carbs to 30 gms or less. I am 62, female, fatty liver, bmi 29, just had A1c of 10.1 last week! In one week I went to whole food based diet with protein from unprocessed meat, eggs, legumes, absolutely no processed foods or carbs, no sweets. My fbs went from 329 1 week ago, to 150 in 7 days. I lost 6 lbs, water weight, but feel better. I am walking and had been resistance training for 2 years. I am happy to have found this channel. I hope more fasting, and adding fermented foods, will help me achieve my goal of normalized blood sugars. Coming from a sugar addict, this is my wake up call.

You just described what's going on in my body today. I was diagnosed w/metabolic syndrome several years ago by my primary MD. My blood sugars are still normal but from your lectures I realized that I'm insulin resistant and all that inflammation is what's causing my health problems today. It leads back to an unhealthy diet. I thought I was eating well w/an organic diet and "healthy snacks". Yet I've developed eczema and new food allergies. Leaky gut is what I need to heal. I ordered my MK7 last night. I started a new diet today that will become a way of life that you would approve. The more I listen to your lectures the more I realize how I wound up in this unhealthy state. Thank you because in this quest to heal myself I finally found the answers.

I spoke with an Indonesian friend of mine about food once. She mentioned how she found eating to be a chore, that is was boring and chewing was so annoying. I realized she had a very different relationship with food than me. I found her logic to be incredibly consistent and I agreed with her after short contemplation. When I realized eating was a chore, when I realized it is a necessity for inviting good things into my body, when I realized it is not supposed to be exciting, I was able to make the switch that I wasn't going on a brief diet but I was instead changing my diet and my perspective entirely. It's just something that clicked. I realize it's a responsibility to eat properly.

I wish you would do a seminar of such wisdom at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, NY... as it seems practically no doctors here comprehend the facts as well as you do. I took your advice from all your video seminars and have reversed my illnesses such as pre-diabetes, metabolic syndrome and hypertension. Perhaps if all doctors were so educated and fluent with this knowledge, the world would be FAR healthier... THANK YOU SIR for your profound information, wisdom and passion to tell the truth and speak the facts without big Pharma propaganda. THANK YOU!

I appreciate what you are doing to help us heal our bodies. I am on two of the worst meds in my mind because of the diseases themselves: ozempic and triamterene. I've gone back and forth with fasting which helps, but like an addict, all is takes is a slight slip, and I'm back off the wagon. I'm back to fasting yet again after being on a 4 month spiral. I've not been diagnosed with metabolic syndrome but all of the symptoms are present. Once again, thank you for teaching us to do better. You're an absolute angel.

From my own personal experience I absolutely agree and believe our gut health is the key, and the root cause is, simply, as we learned as kids, "You are what you eat"! My father died of 4 diseases the doctor mentions, especially arteriosclerosis, in a complex combination, I believe, of over-treating only symptoms, with over-medication and surgical treatment, without addressing the core issue (micriobiome and nutrition), thereby creating even worse problems. It could have been avoided, if we knew then what we know now. I'm hoping to learn more and do better (even though it's also a little late in life for me and some damage is already done). Keep up the great work!

I am so thankful to have found this video you have prepared for us! I implement all the healthy ways of being in diet and lifestyle and now have been experiencing in the last year or so weight gain, weight resistance, a sensation of heaviness in my body and discomfort around the middle due to excess abdominal fat. I feel full, even though I may have eaten very little. I woke up this morning. Praying to God that I may find an answer to my struggle of being well and feeling well. I am so looking forward to your next video and will follow you completely through, your teaching! Thank you so very much

Doctors told me I would have a heart attack LDL was 186. Quickly discovered you because the doc told me to start taking lunch meat sandwiches to work instead of fast food. Such clueless terrible advice! Instead I cut processed foods, sugar, and lowered carbs drastically. I lost 26 pounds, dropped ldl from 186 to 129 in 8 months, and my abs are back. Also helped digestive issues and plain almost eliminated. I did not stop eating meat. Thanks for the eye opening information.

In the past few years…. Since having a double vessel stroke… I have drastically changed my eating and also do IF. My numbers are excellent… but I know I still have gut issues to solve and really NEED this information you are giving to continue on my path to continued improved health. I had the stroke at 57…. Luckily I wasn’t alone and others saw the signs… and I got help right away or it would have been VERY bad results indeed 😢. I am very blessed to have a second chance. I’m now 65 and soooo much healthier. Please help us all with this wonderful beneficial and insightful information ❤Thank you so very much

In my opinion you are 100% spot on!! What i do, but not 100% perfect, about 85%. When I eat: 1. Carbs: its mostly whole grains; carbs to fiber 5gr carbs to 1 gr fiber or less 5:1 or less ratio; 2. 6 veggies/day, raw, steamed, sautéed, fresh or mostly frozen. Sprinkle mustard on broc before or after cooking to activate sulforphane. Chop garlic let sit 15 min to activate allicin before cooking. 3. Get plenty of protein daily. 4 get at least 1-2 tablespoons of quality olive daily. 5. Eat homemade sauerkraut 4 times/wk.. Drink homemade (REAL) Kefir. 51 strains of bacteria/yeast/serving. 6. Supplement with AMLA powder daily-1 teaspoon in capsules-I make my own. Supplement with vitamin D3. Took a year to get it to 40ng/ml, from 22. I also supplement with vitamin K2 90mcg/day. 7. Exercise at gym cardio, dumbbells, machines. Walking also. 200-250 minutes/wk. 8. Dont drink any alcoholic beverages. They work 100% against good health, including all wines. Carcinogenic. 9. As much as possible stay away from overindulgence of all sugars, processed foods. 10. Learn basic nutrition and learn to cook and prepare foods that lend to good nutrition. Thats the macros. Im 69 good blood chem, B/P avg 167/68, no commodities. APO B stellar. Hope it helps! Thanks Doc.

I’ve been doing keto and 14/10 intermittent fasting for two months and am now becoming more “ regular “. Although I’ve lost 12 pounds, I don’t do it for weight but because I have metabolic syndrome. I do have a cheat day once a week in which I eat some breads and grains and it causes me to be irregular the following two days. Consuming a coke now makes me nauseous. The longer I’m on this diet, the better I feel and the less I crave carbs and sugars. Will be having blood work done in three months and particularly interested to see how my A1C, triglycerides, and HDL come out. Too, I have just recently added a probiotic + prebiotic supplement and it seems to cleanse my colon. My gut has never felt this good. Looking forward to seeing the next video on this subject.
