One Word. Outstanding. Nick, you've posted some really excellent videos over the past few months but this one is definitely outstanding. Your ability to arrive at the scene of a fire either before or along with the first arriving companies is simply amazing. My most sincere condolences go out to the loved ones of the elderly couple who perished in this tragic incident. Rest assured KZbin subscribers Hi-Rise Nick is on the job once again.

Greatly appreciate it Tommy! Sorry that I haven't been responding to comments faster, I've been running my ass off to calls like this. Rest assured I read every one and have a great appreciation for what you have to say! Stay warm brother!

Donald Savage That’s a looooooong stretch.

There was, in fact a standpipe. Just was difficult for them to make the push into the apartment.

There was a standpipe system. Fire and wind conditions just made the push very hard

Why didn't they use the tower ladder to put water on the fire?
@KRiiB782 жыл бұрын
First you should find out BOE high up this apartment fire is from ground level… secondly you should google the maximum height a FDNY tower ladder can extend. That way the Next time you to want to be an arm chair command post chief and critique the most skilled 20,000 highly trained Firefighters….food for thought

FDNY has their act together when it comes to balancing and synchronizing interior, exterior and ventilation operations! Commanders capacity to communicate and coordination of resources for effective direction and control is absolutely phenomenal! I would love to ride out over a 2 or 3 week period with their Battalion or District chiefs!

DC-8 Tailpost “Above and Beyond”, or whatever YOU would like to name it means a LOT in this business. As does training, when you put your life on the line....that’s bravery.

DC-8 Tailpost On what basis does the FDNY issue medals for meritorious acts? There are Class I, Class II, and Class III medals. I'll give you a hint, the criterion is explained in the Regulations for the Uniformed Force .
@richardstevens59616 жыл бұрын
azul8811 The Gordon Bennett Award is usually reserved for the more spectacular of the various rescues throughout the year. This is pretty much the highest of them for an individual.
@azul88116 жыл бұрын
RICHARD Stevens Yes, I'm familiar with the James Gordon Bennett medal. However I think you missed my point.

You try holding a camera steady in subzero temperatures🙄🙄
@kither046 жыл бұрын
Quiff Osaurusrex many have filmed in sub zero temps and no shaking because you dress for the weather. But this was beyond just a bit of shivering. I have liked many of the previous videos from fdny response but this one just seemed sub par and very hard to watch. Of course they do make equipment pretty cheap to keep the camera from shaking.
