Thanks! I'm a puller...and have been struggling with hamstring issues for the last 2 years. Also, you're obviously getting more comfortable in front of the camera with each video you do. Keep it up, because you produce some really great content.

Thank you! Almost in tears as I write this. I have been struggling with tight hamstrings, calves, hip flexors and especially tight psoas for over a decade. Lately increased my running distance and started getting nasty blisters on my feet from using bad form. I had recognized the need to strengthen my glutes 2 years ago and implemented squats and deadlifts to remediate. Then the squats gave me hemmrhoids so I had to go easy on that. You just taught me that I can exercise my gluteus while running. Who knew 🤷. Yesterday I watched this video and then went for a long run using justly my glutes. Apparently mine had not been activating at all. My form was better, I felt better, it even helped my abs, back and shoulder position. I feel taller. Thank you. This video seems to be the solution to so many of my problems. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Awesome coaching... I was 2:16 marathoner and probably never used my glutes correctly. Now 30 years later I’m really learning to run stronger and coaching new runners correctly...

Great video Sandi! I've been trying to do these as often as possible before I start, and I can always feel the difference in muscle activation and the improvement in form. So important to use all muscles in your legs!

Hi Sandi, watched video this morning, did the warm-up drills, then went out for a 2 hour LSD run. I think I had my glutes pretty much engaged for the entire run. Great videos & thank you !

This was so helpful! I tried what you suggested and also began to notice how much I was pulling on my runs... your suggestions helped me improve my running form which seemed to have the added benefit of increasing my speed:) Afterwards I did not have tight hamstrings like the times before. I'm currently recovering from a knee injury. I have some glute strengthening and running form correction to do so this video is really helpful. It's also nice to hear a professional runner confirm that it takes time to correct one's form. It doesn't happen overnight.

Same here, I know my glutes are kinda weak but I wouldn't have guessed it was also the cause of the calf stains. Actually, it's not just stains, the rubbing actually creates irritation down there after very long runs (2h and more), thanks Sandi

Great tips. Def give them a go. Need to add in drills as well. Where in a program is it best to put them? Eg after easy runs, or tempo runs or where? And how often per week? Thanks so much.

Great info and much appreciated! My only advice would be to find someone who knows how to operate a camera as the ISO changes and shooting into the sun ☀ are taking away from the quality of your video.

Your hip is dipping in when you lift your right leg. The left leg is good, hip level.

I often have my foot hitting my inner calve of the opposite leg. I believe I'm activating my glutes correctly and using good form. Are there other reasons this could be happening? I wear pretty big shoes maybe thats it? Is striking your inner calves occasionally a big issue?

Sometimes for me it's just a consequence of the ground being uneven and my stride gets thrown off laterally a bit. On a treadmill, I don't recall hitting my calves.

@@topoisomerace i guess that makes sense. I run on rough trails often. i think i still hit my calves on the treadmill sometimes, but not nearly as much when on loose rock or muddy terrain thanks!

VIvian Laviv old comment - but high quality, cushioning, shoes. I used to suffer fro shin splints badly but with good shoes and keeping at it even when it hurt eventually solved the problem. Don’t give up.
