my first ever pet was one of those nightstalkers in Teldrassil. in vanilla you needed to tame different pets to learn their abilities, for example the cats in Southern Stranglethorn had rank 5 prowl, so you needed to tame one to get that. that was what I found extremely fun with playing hunter in vanilla. Now you just learn it, there are no ranks and all families have all their respected abilities. the quests were up to level 44-45 in vanilla, that's no joke. STV had a huge level difference between the lowest and the highest mobs, 32-44.

I know this was done last year, but I feel the need to comment on the Help me pls story. My paladin hasn't stepped into a raid nor a mythic dungeon or heroic for that matter. My item level under heals is 390. So, to that guy work in game get the gear. It can be done.

had a friend like that STV hunter. end of classic - hes in STV.. end of tbc - hes in STV.. sometime in wrath i make him follow me to tanaris, about a week later he pleads me to show him the way back to STV, which i did. years go by and hes still in STV. Last time i saw him he was around level 56.. still runnin around in STV. funny guy, but whatever floats his boat i guess.

About the 1st story....that's why I don't even try, I don't accept guild invites anymore, I don't expect to ever do a mythic+ (never done one), I don't even do LFR anymore, my raiding life stopped in WOTLK. Solo play is my world, just up until classic will be released. Man I'm so waiting for it!

Forgotten legion - Outland, we are basically that guild, no requirements don't really try very hard and go for curve only, we have a Romanian, a Bulgarian, millions of Swedes and a few people from around Europe and the UK, and this isn't gonna be for fun. This place is about smacking your head against the wall for 2 months in heroic until we persevere and triumph. And that is the realism behind no requirement raiding, M8.

I know it's highly unlikely that the 1st author reads this; But I want to put this down in writing anyways, so that I can atleast say - I've mentioned my short story. You see, currently I'm in a M guild that I joined this very expansion, returning to wow from a break over legion (didn't enjoy the design choises of the game for legion, literally only expac I haven't played) and if there's one thing I can tell you - if you're ready for M raiding, Just throw the cards on the table - I find that people are often willing to give you a chance if you sound confident enough. It's just like real life, you've got to sell yourself, else no-one will employ you. I approached this guild 4 weeks into bfa (I was late hitting cap as I had a hard time finding a spec I could enjoy taking into raiding - landed on warrior btw - fury is simple, but fun!) and I was atleast 3 OA buffs behind everyone else and 20 ilvl below - but I explained my situation, I told my current guildmaster that I'll make sure he sees I'm worth the wait - and they tried me. I didn't pull 99th percentiles mind you, but I was keeping up and I stood my ground - I even had to miss 2 more weeks of progress raiding due to some work hours hitting me literally straight into my trial period. I explained my apologies, reassuring that I'd be worth the wait, if they'd be willing to look past that incident - and well, yea - to make a long story short - I'm now a fullblown raider with them, I'm only about 5-8 ilvl behind everyone else (capping OA next reset) and I'm constantly seen in #5/+ on the meters. I guess what I'm trying to say is; If I had one advice to people seeking a guild without a huge ilvl on their shoulders or a vast raiding background It would be to play your hand open, and make sure you don't waste their time with you - You have to remember, the trial period is two-sided. Not only are you seeing if their raid environment is for you, but they're checking if you're a good fit, not only in humour, but capability-wise too! (atleast that's my experience, but I'd like to think it sums shit up nicely) I think people forget backbone and honesty alot online, where we're all anonym to whatever degree we like - and it's also easy for me to sit here sounding like I know it all. I realize that I have a tendency of writing in a rather overzealous manner, but I wouldn't know how else to express my thoughts if this wasn't how I was to do it. Sometimes you've just gotta remember that there's people on the other end, trying to justify their sparetime being sunk into wow, just like you and me. I share preach's feelers a bit on how he pointed out that you seemed a bit selfish. And this is not to throw him under the bus, I have every bit of respect for the guy, but I also see why you'd want to find a guild that suits you. And how this may be a struggle. I'm a bit torn in that regard. I get what you're saying, but I think your methods are flawed and could use some rethinking - with the above mentioned reasons in mind. But yea, I guess I've dragged this on long enough - I'll end it here, enjoy your weekend for anyone who may have read my rancid comment here, lol ~ Nub

Preach.. The first guy... To me it doesn't sound like he wants to be carried. He just doesn't want to put in all the time and effort _(again)_ only to hear "nope, go fish for the guild" _again._ From what the guy said he's no stranger to looking up how mechanics work, how classes work, how gear works, etc. He's just not in the luxury position of having those awesome guildies/mates that you and many others do. The guy wants his 'fire' back. I am 100% sure that if he could find the environment that would make use of his enthousiasm/skills, he would have his 'faith restored' and make it worth their while 10 times over. It's easy for you to say "you just wanna get carried" because you're in the luxury position of having found what this guy is looking for.

Oh man, plenty of guilds don't only socialize on voice comms - i know I personally would never fit in somewhere like that, I'm always on discord for raid and m+ and all that but just chilling there? I'd rather do it via text, a lot of my guildmates are the same. Those exist. Super active General text channel but unless something's going on people aren't in the voice channels. But the rest of what that dude was saying is so, so bad. I gotta think he's not telling us something, like that he's an asshole, because I can't imagine your average casual guild kicks people ONLY for low item level. There's no harm in having someone around as a social, it's free guild bank money, if you're just a casual guild... but you would kick someone if they were an asshole.

I dont believe in first story. He doesnt tell all the truth. Even if you dont want to put much time and effort in the game, lets say you dont have that much time or your online is shaky you can still do 90% of game content and find some friends to play with. Personally i have ghuun heroic and regular 10+ runs and i clearly know, that i wont be doing uldir mythic because i dont like the idea of raiding 4 days a week for several hours a day. I just simply have another things to do, so im okay with being heroic scrub in small guild. But being unable to find any guild to play together, i dont believe in this.

I think you are confusing it with another common saying "nail in the coffin" but there is no such thing as a death nail. I have heard you use that in you last 3-4 videos and just figured i would point it out so you can correct if you want.

I remember a guild I joined late in Wrath, shortly after TOC was released. Everything seemed good. I was usually in the mix as far as healing meters, despite not being the most geared. People seemed to get along with me, at least to my face. I got lots of gear because even though I didn't have DKP yet, most of the items that dropped the rest of the guild already had. I showed up to raids, I met all their rules, and everything seemed great. Then after a week or two in the guild I log in and I'm not in the guild anymore. I whisper the officers and none of them know what's going on. When the GM comes on, I ask him, and he says it's because I was terrible, didn't know my class, and nobody in the guild liked me. I went back to my previous guild. The other guild - the one that kicked me - ended up breaking up before ICC came out, or else they went so slow in ICC they were irrelevant. The guild I went back to would eventually finish 11/12 ICC 25H and be the furthest progressed guild on the realm, with me as the primary healing officer. So something tells me they made a bad choice in kicking me.
