+Preach Gaming, the "bug" with ghost wolf and fury of air where it lasts forever is actually a 1 point perk on the Doomhammer where you generate 15 maelstrom every second you're in ghost wolf form. Fury of Air costs 5/s, perk generates 15/s, you see where this is going. Actually there seems to be a general trend in these overviews where you ignore the rest of the artifact and only read those big juicy golden dragons, not saying all of them are super impactful but those normal 1-pointers can sometimes be interesting to keep in the back of your head. Other than that, keep making these, they're totally great!

preach, the reason fury of air lasts forever in ghostwolf is because there is an artifact trait that you generate 5 maelstrom per second in ghostwolf and fury of air costs 5 per second so you will be replenishing as fast as it is spent.

boulderfist basically turns enhancement into a fury warrior. it's bloodthirst. the earthern spike you will be able to spam stuff into with later gear, or save up procs to use it rather than just use it when it's up. windsong+doomwinds+ancestral is A LOT of fucking attack speed and maelstrom stacking. you can pair it with spike instead of ascendance to make for better output overall vs immediate burst. that being said tho... nearly every raid boss in legion prefers burst windows instead of overall gains. tons and tons of doing nothing and then boom you can finally do stuff and look... a free bloodlust, or boss takes extra dmg, or you do extra dmg. ect. cenarius is one of the fights where burst is appreciated with how badly you can get fucked by thorns and leaving the adds alive.

The thing I believe you're missing with the Earthen Spike is that it increases ALL physical and nature damage the target takes; this means that's 10sec of 10% increased damage for many classes. Less of a personal buff but likely pretty good in a high-end raid scenario

I actually think some special attention is deserved by Alpha Wolves (one of the artifact traits). It causes your feral spirits to cleave all nearby targets for 10sec when you use crash lightning, effectively turning Feral Spirits into an AoE dps cool down, something I'd think you would consider a worthy game play change since it could allow for more thoughtful setup.

It's been quite fun playing this on the Beta. More so than a BM Hunter which I've mained since MoP. The latter is powerful for sure, but kinda dull. The former though gets all the toys; neat visuals, an iconic artifact, and one of the coolest order halls in the game. Enhancement may be the way to go for me in Legion. Preach the reason you could (probably still can) have Fury of Air indefinitely is because of the Doomhammer trait Spirit of the Maelstrom: While in combat in Ghost Wolf form, you generate 5 (maxed at 15 with 3 points) Maelstrom every 2 sec. Fury of Air spends 5 every second for 10 every 2 secconds.

@preach Voodoo totem might help to CC entire packs of trash mobs on speed runs, yeah? Also, if you were testing on a 110 with the spectral recovery Doomhammer perk, you generate 5 maelstrom per sec while in ghost wolf form. Which would lead to a neutral maelstrom flow and leave fury of air up permanently.

Preach, was the permanent Fury of Air on the 110? If so, ask them about their artifact unlocks. One of the artifact talents is Maelstrom generation while in Ghost Wolf (which is cool for movement fights)... but, you generate more in Ghost Wolf than Fury of Air consumes. So it's possible to basically keep it up infinitely without doing anything (so weird). Either way, between this spec and restoration, thanks to some time on beta, think I found my main. Can DPS or heal as the raid needs and look badass while doing so (without losing my cool xmogs).

Just a heads up, Stormlash damage is attributed to the shaman that "gifted" it. So you actually are boosting your own dps by having it; that being said, if the people you enchant with stormlash dont attack throughout the duration of stormlash you lost out on the damage and you obviously can't control what other players are doing.

In this upcoming expansion I wanted more of a support/dps spec as something much less stressful than the main tanking heroics/off tanking mythics I was doing in WoD. I like that I can help my friends with both Rainfall and Empowered Stormlash without having to roll a full on healing class.

It's the enhance shaman's damage though. It doesn't really buff the other person like you would think. It scales off the shaman's stats and shows up as their damage in logs. Also as a side note it only does a set amount of damage no matter what, you can attack 400 times in the 10s window or only once at the very end and it does the same damage overall.

As someone that played a LOT of Enh Shaman in Wrath, this was something I *hated* until I actually got my hands on it on the PTR. I always hated the CD focused playstyle that so many DPS end up going. I don't mean like 3+ min CDs that you'll use once or twice in a fight. Good openers or saving for a huge burst window (but only once) were things I enjoyed more than every minute to minute and a half...do this style of play for a few second. This Enh shaman is so perfect for what I like to play. Especially that it focuses on the Enhancements themselves as well as getting a Lightning Bolt option. I don't mind managing buffs if I just have to glance every few seconds or ones that stay up if you're doing your rotation correctly.

What I hated most was the slow loss of enhancements. I didn't mind losing totem buffs as long as DPS was smoothed out. (Because I remember doing a Saurfang fight, messing up my rotation VERY slightly, losing a significant chunk of my DPS and never able to recover from it. I mean...I wasn't THAT far...but it was still too unforgiving) I played it in WoD a bit...and it just didn't feel like Enhancement. I think the focus was too much on spamming Lava Lash. What's made it great is that Blizzard hasn't changed what they want to fix about the spec. Fewer buttons that do more damage. Having a 10 button rotation (two of them being macros) was annoying. Even if the DPS is subpar (as it will be because...shaman...), they at least built a solid mechanic to polish rather than the ancient model that "fixed" the old Windfury OP problem.

i have been maining Shaman since Vanilla Beta and i have to agree with Preach. This is the best shaman has looked in years, after wotlk at the start of Cata the class started to feel really clunky, sure it could be strong near the end of an expansion with blizz buffing numbers, but the spec started to feel dated while losing everything that made it special to begin with. THIS new rework of shaman is the entire reason why im coming back to wow, after having quite due to the sheer bordom and frustration that WoD is.

That bug you mentioned about ghost wolf and Fury of Air is not actually a bug, you gain 15 maelstrom every 2? I think? seconds, from some passive ability you can unlock. I forget if it's from the weapon unlocks or the talents but yeah, it's a thing you don't always have on which is why you've seen it happen before but not all the time.

i don't think the winds lasting forever in the dungeon is a bug. i assume that was on the 110 that you were playing with, and they have a artifact talent that makes ghost wolves generate 5-15 maelstrom. so in effect, with the AoE winds, and ghostwolf, you will never lose maelstrom when the artifact gets fully powered.

Hopefully the new way they made the Enhance shaman will pull me back to the game. WoD killed it for me, and they removed one of my favorite spells from MoP (Unleash Elements-static shock OP), and I CAN'T believe they made Ascendance, one of their BASELINE spells into a fucking talent, and gimping their survivability a bit but o well. Is it possible the unlimited Fury of Air you were experiencing earlier was not a bug, but rather interaction between points in your Artifact's Spirit of the Maelstrom (3/3 = 15 ms/2s or 7.5 ms/s regen while in combat in ghostwolf) and Fury of Air (5ms/s cost)? The artifact on this character was unempowered, but perhaps the 110 you played had points allocated there.
