Mine was shutting off every 15 to 30 minutes. I saw another video with a similar work around that didn't work. I tried this bypass and my generator works perfectly now. Thanks for the tip.

I've been looking for this information since winter freezing my ass off restarting this damb thing every ten mins while i'm trying to sleep in my semi truck. I found this video last month and it took me a week or so to get the parts together and take the generater apart. Thank you so much for showing in detail how to do this. I can run a whole tank of fuel without resarting my generater now. FYI the scews to remove the side cover are on the right side of the front panle and the left side of the rear panle also some on the bottem of the side panle. This is the only part missing for your video.

Bought one, had the same issue. Returned thinking I just got a “lemon”. Second one lasted 2 hours-I went to lunch, came back, it fired up for 10 seconds and started shutting off because of the sensor again. I’m going to do the bypass this morning. Thank you for the video 👌🏽

When I unplugged the CO sensor, the generator only ran 18 seconds. The bypass didn't work on my brand new 3500. So I undid the bypass and thoroughly covered the sniffer holes on the CO sensor with electrical tape and now it works great!

Thankfully I bought my 3500's in 2020 before an engine change and co sensor hassle. Just bought the Predator 2000 inverter but haven't started it yet. Same as the 3500's I'm putting in the NGK plug, small gas filter, and trying to do the co delete for obvious reasons. They have now molded 8 wires from 2 cables into that co sensor. 2 browns, a black and white from one cable. A red, green, yellow, blue on the other cable. Trying to study to figure out which wires to connect. They are trying to make it harder to bypass. Your vid is the best but wrong Inverter for me. Greetings from the farm near Battle Creek, Mi.

Agree completely with the theory but not sure how you came up with your wiring bypass, plus my problem was a different brand, a Wen 3600 inverter generator, it has the CO watchdog. Any way I found the sensor and the placed a piece of tape over the actual area within the sensor that attempts to “inhale” the air around it. After taping I placed the generator in a placed it in a trailer for 30 min, a 10’ job trailer with all the doors sealed shut. Ran great!

I greatly appreciate the help. This is a great tutorial however I bought mine last year and it seems a bit different than yours and upon viewing other videos as well I can’t seem to find out to bypass. It is very aggravating as I run it on the back of my van in a tool box and although I leave the lid open in use it still cuts off after brief use. Hate to have someone hold my hand but I’m about to go crazy trying to figured a way around the issue. The wires on mine are not the same color as yours and it doesn’t seem as accessible either.

This video was very helpful and good I really like the way you explained other things what I found out was you don't need to do this bypass necessarily if you just remove the cover near the oil spout where you add and change the oil and just keep that off it should be just fine like you said there's a lot of vacuum in the turtle shell of this unit. I've been running at 98 degrees heat in the California desert for a whole tank of gas at a time running a 14,000 BTU ac unit

FOR ANYONE BYPASSING THIS SENSOR... Please, just make two jumper wires to insert into the plug sockets to connect the wires; ie. Brown/Orange to Black; Yellow to Green. That way, you can easily reverse this without any alterations or damages to the wires. I JUST BYPASSED MINES TODAY, PURCHASED GENERATOR TWO DAYS AGO! I can finally run it to break the engine in!

I have had the same problem with my Predator 1800 (two of them) and they were set on a pallet thats surface was covered with plywood to keep the generator from sucking in dust. Also we live off grid on 5 acres so it was set about 15 feet from or cabin with no obstructions around it. Just a shift in the wind and the generator would shut itself down and the little red light would go to blinking. I would turn the generator and it would be fine until the wind shifted again (very frustrating) I do live in the Mojave desert so a couple other issues I have had is the generator vapor locking I have had a 4375 two tail gators and two 1800s and they have all had vapor locking issues if temperature is above 100 degrees F. This problem can be solved by removing spark arrester on the muffler disconnecting the vapor line on top of the tank and covering the top of the generator so direct sunlight doesn’t hit it. I also would highly recommend getting the 2 year replacement warranty as I have never had one last more than two years and for approximately 100 dollars you can simply empty out (ALL) the gas and return and get another new generator for 100 dollars (cost of new warranty) instead of having to pay full price to replace it. I have an 1800 that I’am retiring to today that I have only had for about 9 months it still runs but stinks of exhaust. I think the valves just need adjusting but don’t want to try adjusting and void my warranty. I change the oil in my generators every 20 hours as recommended in the manual but no matter what I do I can’t get one to last even two years. I would like to hear from someone who has had one last over two years that gets daily use. Great video and I’am definitely going to do this to my generator when I get my new one home today.

This one was made Mar. 2023 and has 8 wires molded into that sensor, no plug in. They're trying to make it harder to delete as it doesn't look like others with co sensor. I'll get it figured out before trying to start it. Hopefully. Not seeing anything for the 1400.

You’re essentially cutting all the wires then just not connecting 2 colors back to the plug , can’t you just dead end the 2 colors from the beginning and keep everything else connected ? Or does those blue connectors serve a different purpose?

People shouldn't be so stupid as to run it in an enclosed area or you should fix the problem...better yet offer free servicing for it every time it needs it! I'm sitting in 100 degree weather with a new generator that doesn't freaking work! Thanks harbor freight! You used to be my favorite store in the world! Not anymore! I did this and it did disable my CO sensor, but it created a problem with my starter. When I turn of the generator I hear a constant groaning noise from inside the generator without the motor running. I unhooked the battery and it stopped. Also notice that electric start button would not function now either. I disconnected the senor cut the brown and black, green and white, and then spliced those pairs together using a wire nut. What could be the cause?
