Predator Hemi 212 vs None-Predator Hemi 212

I built two identical 212s 1 hemi and 1 non-hemi. ONLY difference is the Hemi had stainless valves the non-hemi has Champion rockers. Even with a better carb and better flow on the non-hemi the Hemi comes out on top. Black Betty had the non-hemi my Race Day Bike has the hemi.

The Piston configuration is the same as the old Shovelhead Motors on Harley-Davidsons that's why we always dual plug them because detonation was only on one side of the cylinder. Maybe that's something in the future you guys can try to figure out how to dual a plug at 212

the mod2 will pull 7000+ rpm, a better comparison would have to swap heads and pushrods. Thanks for posting all the vids man!!

@@Black66 your welcome So yea its a 74tooth in the rear the 12tooth clutch just came in it has 2 set screws but no locking screw to keep the clutch from slipping off the clutch rod is this like a big secretive part or something i ordered one i guess it was for a 212 but it was too big idk any tips on where that secret clutch locking screw with the washer is for the motovox clutch rod or crank shaft watever you call it

That's crazy. I woulda thought the non hemi woulda beat it. People dog on the mod 2, but it's got some long duration. I'm actually taking mine out now to swap the 272 in. I wonder.....

I like doing stuff that a lot of other people don't like lol. Just to see what it will do. Kinda like polishing an intake runner... I like mod 2. I put a mod 3 in the Tilley just to try it. A lot of duration on that one too.

@@Black66 no doubt! Someone was telling me they ran a mod 2 with ratio rockers and it never crossed my mind being relatively new to this basic lawn mower level thousandths of an inch rocket surgery. I woulda done that instead of the bigger cam. Still may try it and I got another 212 block and a 196 paperweight. It just takes me ages to do anything.

@@tashatorrid That's a good idea. It would be cool to try ratio rockers on that kart with the mod2. I know what you're saying about getting stuff done. I have to get out of my own head and push myself to get out there a lot of times lol

Just the valve cover. And the factory they are made at. But they really are so close it doesn't matter.

I personally think that that gx160 head is hurting your performance since the stock predator head has 25/27 valves and the gx160 head has 24/25 valve if I’m not mistaken so you should try putting the stock head and see if that helps I understand that you get a 14cc chamber but it’s not worth it with the performance you getting and I also what yo see a video of the comparison

The Non-Hemi Predator head has the same size valves. The Hemi is the one with the bigger valves. I like the GX160 head with my 265 cam. It seems snappy with that cam. I did test it with the mod 2 cam in a Hemi block and then the Hemi head back to back and the Hemi head was a little better if I remember right. I need to dig out the video

The GX-160 might hurt performance with a big cam and a lot of RPMs.I'm not sure. I haven't really tried it. But with the smaller cams, we are running, The engines seem to get more snappy .

Why not have the 22 valves 22 lb valve springs to the non hemi head that 160 head and then see what you get

Ya, I think so. Mine did that on a few of these things and I had to mess with the carb jetting. Jet too small for what I was doing.

@@Black66 true few years ago I went to an auction and bought 10 motor new in the box for 50 a piece I threw them on stuff I had that needed a motor they hold up and my kids beat them to death and still going my personal toys mb 200 mm 212 and a ct200u that I stretch and lifted for the bubble bike has 22 inch tires on it stretched a foot I used Tilly on my 2 other bike 236 on mm212 and a 228 on the mb200 I've got the wildcat on my bubble stage 2 I use it to run to the store with a milk crate
