Big ups for breaking down your edging restraint technique. Love it and as landscapers that do a lot of hardscaping, our “intra-team debates” tend to get pretty heated as our project scope and variables often extend beyond the pavers and into the irrigation, lighting turf/lawn edges, mulch support, hedges along edges, etc. Let’s be real, this isn’t the prettiest element of a patio and it’s a especially challenging here in Hilton Head Island, SC. We’re building on soft beach sands with large Oaks tree roots running throughout the entire island so the ground is shifty. This vid shows why you’re the best at breaking down things and I appreciate how you the tell the story of each job from both a technical and design standpoint. I’ll be sharing this with our team to use as inspirational education. Keep up the good work and please never forget that all your supporters are forever grateful for the time and energy you put into to mastering your craft and documenting it. You’ve created this neat avenue that’s spreading cutting edge knowledge, inspiration, and good vibes throughout the entire YT hardscaping community. You’re always touching on the key details and sharing hacks like the fiberglass, and these offer realistic solutions that help us all in our own projects. The time-lapse visuals on the edging showed me so much from how deep to go, how much concrete you used, the big angles, and troweling it halfway up the edge of the paver and it was all beautiful to see. One question, how do you keep you’re poly gaps filled nicely around the border when the edge doesn’t come to the top of the paver? Thanks for the advice Sean,

Man, that is so nice to hear! Thanks so much! It’s good to know all the time spent filming and editing these videos is worth it and people are getting value out of it! And we usually let the edges bevel out and taper off, but on certain pavers we will use painters tape on the edge until it sets. Have a great day man!

Do you give a round of tamping before the concrete edging? I just did the exact same build and there are a few blocks that could use some adjustments but seems like it would be hard keeping it all level without tamping quick then concrete then final tamp

Won’t the concrete be an issue for grass? I use aluminium edging nailed in. The plastic stuff is basically useless.
@THEpremieroutdoor2 жыл бұрын
Nope! That’s why we angle it away, and only bring it up half the height of the paver!

@@THEpremieroutdoor the way you added the fiber to concrete was different- I think you calling it "top secret" was warranted!
