FOR A DIY STAY-WET PALETTE... (I love a stay wet palette but found them pricey when i was starting out) you can make your own with the Ferrero rocher chocolate boxes, soak some kitchen roll for the base then add parchment paper cut to size on the top, keeps acrylic paint wet for a long time. loved the music at the start it's not something I would listen to but it made me smile :)

If you’re a fan of Arches, check out Jackson’s Art Supplies - they have a block the same size/specs as the one you bought that’s way cheaper and you get almost double the number of sheets! I don’t bother going to Eckersleys anymore - they are so overpriced! If I need to buy something locally, I get my supplies from Artsup. But most of my supplies I order from Jackson’s and pay half the price!!

Arches tend to do that to you. My mom is all Arches only, and she can't change. I'm all Fabriano, and sometime experimental with other paper. But my goodness, my mom is there's only 1 watercolor paper, and it's Arches. There's Arches made in France, and Arches made in China (cheaper). Could be just my bad luck, but all the ones made in China had some sort of defect. Paint become blotchy, or a weird textured patch in the middle of the paper, consistent with all 10 sheets I got, which made me think something was on the roller. So yeah don't fall for cheaper paper. 😂

Sha’an, I was also in the throws of Arches for the longest time, but I’ve since recently (1-2years now?) been in love with Stonehenge papers. If they’re available near you, give them a go! I think they’re on par with Arches. They even have blocks at a more affordable rate here in Canada.
