I am currently reading "Motherwell" by the late Deborah Orr. She was a journalist and columnist for the Guardian, the "i" and others. At 30 she was editor of the Guardian weekend magazine so a high achiever from a working class background. She was born in Motherwell to an English mother and a Scots father. I have a connection with Motherwell as my wife's family comes from there. It's a difficult yet compelling read as she had a sometimes difficult relationship with her mum, was bullied at school but is ultimately uplifting as she goes to University and has a stellar career in journalism. Her life was tragically cut short by cancer but what a talent.

Soooo beautiful. I love love love Cairngorms in winter. Bring on the next winter trip. Stayed at Fiona’s air B&B last year in Grandtown. The shops are so lovely in that place. My favourite candles are made and sold there too. I had the best solo winter trip whilst there. Enjoy your break ❤
