I'm voting yes to the video about salt. And I love to see that John was cracking himself up. It shows that he was enjoying himself.

I've actually ruined meals by using SEA SALT or PINK SALT...reg salt, I have to use more because it hardly salts. Big vote for video on Salt.

Snickerdoodles have to be the most adorably goofy cookie name out there - thanks for this recipe and the wholesome vibes! Both especially needed today! Hope you and your family are well, John.

I'm making these for my best friend's 18th birthday. He loves snickerdoodles, but he hates when people buy him gifts because it makes him feel guilty and like he needs to buy them something of equal value. He eventually agreed to let me get him something if it was homemade, so I'm glad my favorite channel had a recipe for it!

Here is Australia no one ever makes or has eaten Snickerdoodles. Then one day I found a recipe in a Nigella book and decided to make them because of how easy they were and how ridiculous the name is. I loved them and now I make them all the time. They are my absolute go to and everyone is always intrigued by their deliciousness when I do. ☺️

I'm in Australia and I first came upon them being sold in a Seven Eleven, they're quite big and has a gooey center. All the recipes I have looked at and made do not have gooey centers.

I don't know that I've ever thought about Snickerdoodles in Australia but I would've assumed they were a favorite and called something adorable like "Snicky-doos" or something

These are definitely my go-to when I need a super-quick, easy recipe for cookies. So simple yet so delicious. For different holidays, I’ll play around with different spices to complement whatever spices are in use in other dishes. Some nutmeg, cloves, ginger, cardamom, allspice, or other spices of that nature added to the cinnamon/sugar mixture can bring different aromas and flavors to the cookies. You just have to be careful not to overdo it since some of those can be overwhelming if you use too much. You can also add different extracts in place of the vanilla; almond extract is a great one.

A colleague of mine made snickerdoodles and brought them to work. I had one and was battling myself not to eat the whole lot, they were so divine. I could never replicate her recipe though. But you always give the weights and not just the volumes, so I'll give it another go this year using your recipe. Thanks John 😃

Made a batch recently. My trick for covering them in the cinnamon sugar was dropping a few of the dough balls into the mix and shake the bowl slightly until they were all covered. And covered they were. 😀

I’ve done both recipes, and this one was DEFINITELY easier than the previous recipe! I made about 32 cookies in total with this recipe and it was fairly hassle free. I had no concerns about it not rising, and every cookie came out great. My only issue was beating the butter and sugar with a hand mixer. I don’t think it was very productive and I ended up just putting on some gloves and doing it manually by hand. Beyond this little hiccup, all went smoothly with this recipe and everyone loved it! It was fluffy and there was no concerns about it being raw in any way.

To keep soft - underbake just a little, and put in AIRTIGHT container before completely cooled. To soften cookies that are already hard, just put a piece of white bread in your container of cookies.
